Louis punched the young man in the face, knocked him unconscious, threw him on the ground, and called the police.

After the call got through, Louis reported the address and said sternly, “Send someone over. Someone had instigated a fight and had smashed a shop. The circumstances are terrible.”

“Hey, don’t! Don’t do that!” After the young man found out that Louis had called the police, he didn’t care about the pain on his body and immediately crawled over and hugged his leg, begging for mercy. “Someone gave me money to do this. I, I was a foolish moment of mine. Please don’t send me to the police station. I’ll be done if I have a record!”

Louis looked down at him and squinted his eyes, “Someone asked you to do this?”

The young man nodded vigorously, and came clean, “The man said that he was jealous of the popular business of this roast duck shop, so he gave me one hundred thousand and asked me to cause trouble so that they won’t be able to do business today.”

“Is there only one roast duck shop around, what’s there to be jealous of?” Louis sneered, “Even if he wanted to smash the store, he should have taken advantage of at night when there’s no one and not get you to do so in broad daylight...”

He asked the boss, “Where is the pregnant woman who was sitting here?”

“Oh, there was a man who just came who was almost as tall as you, he took her away.” Lily was the only pregnant woman in the shop, and John was eye-catching hence the lady boss had a good impression of him.

Louis asked, “Does he have blue eyes and wore glasses?”

“Yes, he’s rather handsome.”

It was John!

“Do you know where they went?”

She thought for a while, then shook her head, “The shop is too busy, I didn’t pay attention.”

Since there was nothing to ask from the boss, Louis paid for Sprite and hurried left.

He asked the neighboring shop and those that sat outside for the barbecue if they had seen a man taking a pregnant woman away from that road.

A guest just so happened to have seen it and said that they went to the open-air car park.

Louis’s car was also parked there, he knew that there was no surveillance inside and only the road out of it had surveillance.

He held onto his breath and called John.

Louis’s heart instantly sank to the bottom, he thought that John had probably targeted them when they got out of the district.

John had arranged for someone to trap him in front of the roast duck shop just so that he would have sufficient time to take Lily away.

Louis took a deep breath, calmed himself and called Leigh, and ordered him, “Help me check the monitoring logs of this area of the night market. The specific time is...”

While he waited for Leigh’s news, Louis did not idle. He notified the aviation administration, the high-speed rail station, and Yorkshire Port, and gave photos of John and Lily, asking them to watch out for both of them.

After searching all night, Louis was left empty-handed.

Occasionally, he would receive calls from the aviation administration and the person in charge of the port. They were all keeping a lookout, but they did not find the shadows of John and Lily.

Louis sat in the car and wondered how John would take Lily away from Yorkshire.

While he was lost in his thoughts, David called.

After he gave the order, he hung up the call and drove to the company.

In the wee hours, Leigh sent the driving path of the four drivers and had checked on them, and there was nothing suspicious.

The familiar female driver kept lurking in Louis’s mind.

It was surprising that the female driver went to the night market to eat, but on her way back, she stopped at a certain intersection for a few minutes. There was no monitoring there, and he didn’t know what she stopped for.

After arriving at the company, in just two minutes of reaching his room, David knocked on the door and came in.

“Mr. Smith.” David placed the personal particulars file on the table and glanced at Louis’s gloomy face, “The woman in the photo is Amanda, she is an employee of the risk control department.”

Louis opened the file, took a glimpse of her joined date, and his eyes sank, “Did she come to work today?”
