Jack had some drinks and was heading to the restroom when he unexpectedly bumped into Amelia.

When their eyes met, Jack frowned slightly. He wanted to pretend he didn't see her, but Amelia smiled and greeted him first, "Hi, Jack!"

Since she had taken the initiative to greet him, Jack had no reason to be cold toward her. So, he nodded and said, "Hey."

A trace of sadness flickered across Amelia's face. She didn't expect Jack to respond so coldly. This made her feel very distant from him. She even thought that if she hadn't taken the initiative to greet him, Jack might have pretended not to see her.

However, Amelia didn't want to end the conversation there. When she saw that Jack was about to leave, she quickly said, "Jack, I didn't expect to run into you here!"

Amelia was a little surprised.

After all, the event today was an elite IT summit organized by the municipal government of Alnewgo. The attendees were either renowned entrepreneurs or wealthy investors, as well as high-level advisors and their assistants. In short, everyone there had an outstanding status.
