A Life Beyond Limits novel Chapter 200

As if he sensed Amelia's sincerity, Jack nodded and then said, "But I hit Alex last time. Don't you blame me for that?"

Amelia looked at Jack, and she suddenly blushed. She lowered her head and said, "No. He was asking for it."

Jack nodded. "Thanks for understanding. But I have something to attend to, so I'll be going now. Please excuse me."

Seeing that Jack was about to leave, Amelia felt a little reluctant to part with him. She wanted to stop him from leaving so that she could chat with him for a little longer, but she swallowed the words and didn't say anything.

Amelia watched as Jack walked further away, feeling an inexplicable sense of sadness.

She recalled the times she had spent with Jack. She remembered how they would go to the library to study, take a brisk walk through the park, and head to the cafeteria for food. Once, when she was sick, he had run so fast that he had lost his shoes just to bring her to the hospital, and she also remembered the chicken soup that he had prepared for her.

Her mind was filled with Jack's voice, face, and smile.

His radiant smile and confident gaze just now suddenly reminded her of the phrase, "A smile so alluring that it can cause an empire's downfall." This phrase was usually used to describe women, but she thought that it fit Jack perfectly.

Seeing his resilience and strength, she suddenly felt as if she had truly gotten to know him. Perhaps he would never be defeated by hardships, and his happiness wouldn't depend on his external success. No matter what difficulties he faced, he would confront them with courage.
