A Mate For The Last Lycan novel Chapter 141

Chapter 141: KHAOS’S COLDNESS

Dacre would be very dense if he couldn’t see right through Rose’s intention for coming here personally to deliver the news. The scout should have come right away to meet him instead of relaying the information to Rose.

It became more obvious when Rose blatantly asked to enter his tent. She looked surprised when Dacre denied it, but she was graceful enough to not make a big deal out of it.

"The scouts have found five ships of food supplies in the River Creek’s pier. Those are big ships, but from the look of it, they wouldn’t have enough room to supply people with food until the end of the winter." Rose touched her chin, thinking. "At best, they will be running out of food within a few weeks from now."

Dacre nodded, as he listened to her analysis. "Do you have any idea what to do?"

Rose narrowed her eyes. "I am thinking of a plan, but I am not sure if the king will agree to it or not."

"Let’s hear about it."

The cold wind came from the north and Rose shuddered because of that. She tightened the cloak around her and her voice was trembling when she spoke, but Dacre stopped her.

"Let’s talk about this in the morning." Dacre lifted his head and looked at the sky. "From the look of it, there will be an avalanche tonight. I hope it will not come our way."

Rose looked disappointed, she thought the king would invite her inside when he saw her, but to her dismay, he didn’t even bother with the offer, not even a cup of warm tea.

"You can leave now, rest well because tomorrow will be another long journey," Dacre said and before Rose replied, he already entered his tent, leaving her standing alone there.

Rose was dumbfounded. How could the king treat her like this when he needed her.

With a heavy heart and steps, Rose returned to her tent and tried to think the best plan that she could come up with, so she could impress the king.

She felt pathetic because the king didn’t even bother to see the subtle advance.

There was avalanche for tonight, the wind became harsher and it rattle the windows, the temperature dropped and it was very cold.

Still, it didn’t deter their plan to continue with the curse on Zuri.

"What do you mean we can’t get inside?" Elijah asked, he had come here with fifteen of magic users and also Rhett.

But, when they were about to enter Zuri’s bedroom, Gayle stopped them with twenty of his warriors. They were surprised to see these warriors guarded the bedroom.

"Alpha Khaos’s order," Gayle said, he stood his ground.
