A Mate For The Last Lycan novel Chapter 142

Chapter 142: PLEASE, DON’T LEAVE ME

Khaos was purging people around him. He dropped people easily when they didn’t listen to him. He had been letting them to act on their own for too long, they forgot, he was the one who had the final say.

They became very comfortable with him to the point they thought the punishment he would give them was simply a warning, which they could brush off with ease.

They thought, they were his family, but at the same time, they would always remind him that his family had been murdered unfairly, that he was the last of his kind. The irony...

"My apology, alpha," Rhett said, he lowered his head submissively, so did Elijah and the rest of the magic users.

Meanwhile, Gayle and the warriors were still stunned with the alpha’s statement earlier.

He became the gamma? Caiden was stripped off from his position? This was a huge news for them. Gayle didn’t even know how to react to this. That was why, he didn’t say anything. He had to ask the alpha again.

The warrior didn’t think Caiden’s mistake would be punished with a demotion.

However right now, the alpha had closed the door behind his back, as he stayed with Zuri inside. When he entered the room, he heard muffling voice from her.

She was talking to no one in particular. Her voice was small, he couldn’t hear what exactly she said and when he walked closer to her, she simply blinked her eyes, as she kept talking.

"...Yes... I don’t think so... I want it, but... you know..."

She stared at Khaos, but it almost looked like she was seeing through him, but then her eyes flickered to her left, as if there was someone talking to her.

Her hair was messy and there was streak of tears on her cheeks. Her lips chapped and her collarbones were protruding. Blood dripped from the wound on her wrists and ankles.

Khaos sat down on the edge of the bed and started to untie the silver chain from her ankles and then her wrists, released her from the pain. But, because it was the wound that came from silver, it didn’t heal immediately and most likely, it would leave scar on her skin.

"No... I don’t think it’s him... I called him before, but he didn’t come..." Zuri shook her head, she frowned. "No... what do you mean that he released me? I am still chained."

"No, you are not, Zuri." Khaos helped her to sit down and she looked confused when she stared at her hands.

"I am not chained anymore... you are right."

"No, you are not..."

"I think I am seeing him now. Am I crazy? Can you believe that I can hear his voice and smell his scent?" Zuri tilted his head, she stared at Khaos with a frown. "He looks so real." She raised her hand and touched Khaos’s cheek. "He feels so real."

Khaos cupped her hand and pressed it to her face. "I am real, Zuri."

"No." Zuri shook her head. Her eyes glistened with tears. "No. He abandoned me. He is angry because I hurt his gamma and killed that stupid, ugly old man."

Khaos chuckled. "You didn’t kill that stupid, ugly old man, Zuri. He is alive."
