For the meantime, as Zuri dealt with the River Creek pack, he could focus on another matter related to this rumor about the lycan.
He kept Zuri close to him because he wanted to see her capabilities and as of now, she had exceeded his expectation. She learned very fast about his business in black market and now, he wanted to see how she would handle the problem in her own pack with her brothers.
The concern about her was understandable, but Khaos knew what he was doing. As vindictive as it sounded, he had Zuri wrapped around his fingers.
"Come here," Khaos said, as he gestured for Zuri to come closer to him.
They were inside the carriage, where she was sitting opposite from him. She was fidgeting and her eyes were wandering. Probably, she had that 'illusion' again, but Khaos didn't ask. He pulled her to sit on his lap and kiss her lips.
At first, Zuri was surprised by this sudden gesture, but soon enough, she welcomed the distraction and reciprocated the kiss.
Khaos wrapped his arms around her lower back to secure her, since the carriage was moving.
Zuri liked it whenever Khaos touched her. His touch was gentle and addictive. The way he touched her as if she was something fragile and needed his protection, which Zuri didn't mind at all.
However, that was it. Khaos had never crossed the line. It was only a kiss, a hug and Zuri wanted more. She felt so greedy.
'A whore.'
Xaden's voice echoed in her mind and she bit Khaos's lip. She was upset, but she couldn't tell to whom she was upset to.
Khaos pulled back and he could feel blood in his taste bud and also on Zuri's lips. His blood. You could imagine how hard she bit him.
For a moment, there was a flash of anger and annoyance in Zuri's eyes, but then when she realized what she had done, she looked terrified.
"I am sorry..."
Khaos simply smiled and wiped his lips from his blood casually. The wound on his lips had healed. "Don't bite me again. You will not like it if I bit you back." He tapped her nose playfully.
"What are you going to do if I bit you again?"
Khaos put her down to sit beside him and this made Zuri look disappointed. See? He did it again. He acted as if he wanted her, but then he would pull away.
He drove her insane with wanting, but what upset Zuri the most was the fact that it seemed the whole thing didn't bother him at all. He was so composed, which she hated.
However, before their conversation about the biting could continue, the carriage stopped and they were informed that they had reached the River Creek pack and needed to change their carriage.
