Chapter 32 Do It Again

Emilia puffed her chest out, straightened her back, and stared at Christopher without a flicker in her eyes.

As he stared at Emilia without averting his gaze, Christopher ordered directly, “Scott, get someone to check out the surveillance footage near NG Enterprise.”

“Yes, Mr. Wayne.”

Christopher continued to stare at Emilia after Scott left. His stare gave her the creeps, but she was reluctant to avert her eyes from his face. After staring at him for a while, she forced a smile and tried to talk to him. She asked, “Who are you exactly? How did you get to know my sister?”

“Emilia!” Maria yelled as she dragged Emilia to her side. Then, she looked at Christopher and said, “Young Master Wayne, did Diane offend you? Please tell us if she has done anything wrong, for I’ll make sure to teach her a lesson when she comes back.”

“She’s now my woman.”

“What?” Maria was stunned, and the smile on her face froze. “W-What does that mean?”

“You don’t have to ask so many questions. As for you…” Christopher’s eyes fell on Emilia. “You’d better not lie to me.”

Christopher’s chilling face sent a chill down Emilia’s spine. After staring at him for a while, she grabbed Maria’s arm and whispered in her ear, “Who is this guy, Mom?”

“Don’t ask about that,” Maria scolded in a low voice without telling Emilia.

Emilia frowned as she carefully studied what Christopher was wearing. She couldn’t tell the brand of his outfit, but she could tell that it was of fine texture. In particular, the cufflinks on the sleeves of his shirt were glittering; one could tell at a glance that they were made of real diamonds.

This is a big shot. Where did Diane get to know such a good man? Oh, right, that card! At the thought of the card, Emilia suddenly realized something. “Is the card that my sister has with her yours?”

Does she know this too? Christopher was surprised, but he kept his countenance without saying a word.

Emilia stared at Christopher before an idea flashed across her mind in a matter of seconds. She pretended to be in a dilemma at once and said, “A-Actually, I wasn’t telling the truth just now. My sister… I know where she went.”

“Shoot!” Christopher’s expression changed. There was an instant where he nearly stretched out his hands and broke Emilia’s neck.

Emilia blinked her eyes. “She went to see Norman, and she did so after our dinner. I happened to be heading the same way she was heading, so I went with her for a while. They met at a cafe on Pearl Avenue. It’s… It’s called Blue Moon.”

This guy is a person of status and standing. If he finds out that I lied to him, his knives will be out for me. It’ll be difficult for me to explain myself by then, so I’d better say what I’m saying right now. Diane wanted to see Norman herself anyway, so this has nothing to do with me. Besides, I can be considered to have helped her if something has really happened to her. At the thought of this, Emilia instantly got rid of the last shred of guilt within her.

“Norman…” Christopher’s name instantly turned livid as he uttered this name. I’m anxiously worrying for her here, yet she went to meet her ex-husband! As his heart was filled with anger, he clenched his fists tightly, turned around, and walked out of the Cornell Residence.
