A Night with Gideon novel Chapter 19

Her hand is small compared to Gideon’s but it was strangely fit for each other. It’s just like now that the two of them were holding hands while they were inside his car parked in a slightly hidden part of the parking lot. “My flight is almost here,” he told Gideon who still couldn’t let go of his hand.

His lips protruded into a frown. He had been in her car for almost an hour doing nothing but holding her hand and occasionally stealing a kiss from her.

“I was thinking to just pulling you out and training under my wings so that you cannot keep leaving whenever you have a flight.” He lightly flicked her piercing nose. “I came here to be a flight attendant. Not to be your employee in the office.”

He played with her fingers before firmly kissing the back of her palm. “I know,

Strawberry. I shouldn’t be a hindrance to your dreams.” He looks at her, this time he has a small smile on his lips. “What time is your flight? Is it nine-thirty?” 1 “Yes,” she answered and touched the collar of his formal white long-sleeve. “I came back here at five in the afternoon. It only takes a few hours.” “Yeah, yeah. And I should work in that hour so I can be with you later.”

She took a deep breath before holding Gideon’s hands. He also caressed her clean jaw before looking directly into her eyes. “Let’s eat outside later,” he invited to which she immediately nodded. The corners of his lips are still up and his eyes are twinkling mischievously.

In normal days, she will tease him or she will flick his forehead because of his naughty thoughts. However, that time he just looked at her seriously and caressed her cheek with his hand. 1 “I want to tell you something later,” “Alright. Whatever it is.”

He smiled at her and then looked at the wristwatch he was wearing. “I need to go.” He was not surprised when he leaned closer to him and then planted a kiss on his lips. “Take care.”

He nodded and then got out of his beloved car. He took his suitcase from the trunk of his car and then smiled at Gideon who was looking at him in his side mirror, They have been dating for almost a week now. After what happened between them in Davao, he never let her go. He insisted that they should date which she finds strange because nothing really happened to them in Davao. They just kiss and make out, until

just there. He didn’t take her all the way. What the reason was, he didn’t know. He seems to be stopping himself that night. He, on the other hand, was slightly ashamed of himself because he knew that he was ready to open up when he went all the way with him. 1 And jeez! This time, there is no other reason. There is no money involved or mutual intentions. It was pure feelings between them.

The question is, are there feelings? He does not know! It doesn’t say anything and he doesn’t say anything to it. They fall into a pseudo-relationship.

They have but they don’t. They do things that couples do, but they don’t have labels. He didn’t hear anything from Gideon, not even a simple ‘I like you’. Even she didn’t tell him that she likes the man even though that’s how she feels. In all her life she has never had a boyfriend. He didn’t know how that relationship worked, that’s why he was content with what was between him and Gideon. There is no commitment, no obligation and he will not be hurt if this is all just a game with the man.

Their relationship is not a secret but it is private. He hasn’t told anyone yet but he knows his colleagues already have a hint because he often catches them gossiping about him. He just shrugged his shoulders because he was not affected by it. There is no evidence that she is flirting with CEO Vesarius so that he can get a high score in internship

He noticed the commotion in the back. His classmate was talking to a foreign man. The old man was talking in French and it seems that Nika couldn’t understand well what the passenger was saying. He understands and can speak a little bit of French because he really stayed up late to read and memorize the book that contains the basic French language. “Je veux du vin de fraise.

Pas de café. Je le veux froid et j’accuse du croissant,” his voice spoke loudly to Nika, who was still blinking because the passenger didn’t quite understand what he said due to the speed of his speech. “Again, Sir. Do you speak English?” The passenger seemed annoyed because the two could not understand each other. “If I am not mistaken, you are asking for wine and croissants, Sir, right?” he groaned and grabbed Nika’s arm to tell her that he would back her.! “Ouí,” he nodded which means ‘yes’. “This woman does not know how to communicate well with passengers.”

“I apologize for that. We are still learning your language. We’ll put additional croissants to your request for compensation,” he replied patiently to the man. The man seemed satisfied with what he said,

Nika seemed to breathe a sigh of relief when she left the man’s presence. Thank you for

this

him and he said he would free him to get back at him. It is said that they didn’t really study the book that they bought so that they can somehow understand the French word even if they can’t speak it. The woman is also a working student at night.

Her days went well. She enjoyed taking care of the passengers and helping them put their luggage at the overhead bin wheels. He had three domestic flights that day before five o’clock finally arrived. He immediately went straight to their locker room to get his things that were left there. He could feel the looks thrown at him by his batch mates who were just across the locker.
