Chapter 148
Arvin snapped out of his daze and hurriedly picked up his phone, worried about whether he had inadvertently exposed Yolanda’s privacy.
Paul turned off his phone angrily and rushed toward Jonathan’s room, with Arvin and the others following closely behind.
Cynthia noticed Liam’s worried look and suggested, “Should we go have a look too in case he gets hurt?” She didn’t mention the name explicitly, not wanting to alert Thomas,
“What about Mr. Frost if you leave! Liam asked.
“He’s stable for now, and the ambulance will be here soon. They don’t need me here. Cynthia replied.
“Okay” Liam asked his grandparents to stay with Thomas before pulling Cynthia along with him.
In Jonathan’s room, the two lay naked together. Suddenly, the door was forcefully kicked open from outside.
Paul’s voice echoed before he even appeared, “Jonathan, you ungrateful child! Your grandfather is fighing for his life, and here you are, indulging in pleasure, and you even had the nerve to spread this filth everywhere!”
The commotion was so loud that it stirred Jonathan. He was only lightly drugged by Yolanda as the latter feared that it might be too suspicious for him to be in deep sleep. Jonathan woke up in a daze. Groggy, he rubbed his aching head and looked up to see Paul’s furious face and felt confused. “Dad, what’s going on?
“How dare you ask
k me? Look beside y
e you” Paul said.
Jonathan turned and met Yolanda, who was pretending to wake up,
. His eyes widened in shock “What are you doing in my bedr
Yolanda immediately squeezed out a few tears, looking pitiful. It was you who forced me onto the bed. How could I, a weak woman, resist you?”
She even extended her arm from under the covers to wipe her tears, revealing bruises on her skin. Arvin, who had just arrived, felt a sharp pain in his heart as he witnessed the scene.
Seeing the accusatory glances from everyone, Jonathan was at a loss for words. “I fell asleep as soon as I got to the room. How could I have assaulted you? Arvin, you have to believe me. Yolanda is yours: I would never touch her
Arvin’s voice was choked with emotion as he asked, “How do you explain the marks on her body?”
“I really didn’t,” Jonathan insisted, trying to stand up and explain. As he rose, the blanket slipped off, revealing g his strong, muscular body. Such a sight made things even more complicated. Liam quickly covered Cynthia’s eyes and said sternly, “Put on your clothes before you say anything
Jonathan hurriedly dressed, covering himself up. Everyone in the room had already concluded that he had assaulted Yolanda, but he knew he hadn’t touched her; otherwise, he would have had some memory or sensation of it.
He could only glare fiercely at Yolanda. “Explain yourself. How could I possibly have touched you? This is my room. I remember locking the door. How did you even get in here!”
Yolanda’s initial composure wavered slightly at Liam’s appearance. She hadn’t expected him, whom she liked, to show up and see her in bed with another man, and his lack of reaction wounded her pride deeply. Taking a deep breath, she resolved that her plan had to succeed, and failure was not an option
“My dress was corn, so I came to the lounge to change. I must have taken a wrong turn and ended up in your room. As soon as I entered, you grabbed me and pulled me onto the bed, I struggled, but…” Yolanda broke into sobs, looking like a virtuous woman whose innocence had been
robbed.
Jonathan was so angry that he wanted to kick her. “You’re lying” Suddenly, a cold voice filled the room,
one day.
Yolanda looked over with gloom in her eyes. It was Cynthia, who was always against her. She swore to make the latter regret it
Cynthia observed Yolanda’s expression and said, “The guests‘ lounge is on the first floor. This is the second floor. Even if you got lost, you wouldn’t mistake an entire floor.”
Jonathan snapped out of his rage and agreed, “Yes, this is the second floor. And whether you took the elevator or the stairs, you the actual lounge. You couldn’t have missed it unless you can’t read”
would have passed
Yolanda lowered her head and choked with sobs, “Would I use my innocence to slander you? I was so embarrassed in the hall, so I kept my head down to avoid everyone’s stares. I didn’t see the lounge at all”
“You’re twisting the truth!” Jonathan growled through gritted teeth.

Of all the terrible translations this is by far the worst. Garbled rubbish with different languages in between. I wouldn't recommend this novel!...
