The Clara family couldn’t function without Anthony. The rest of the family had more ambition than ability, and without him, they would fall apart quickly. 

William looked at Ethan earnestly. “Dr. Zimmer, you must cure my grandson. Please.”

Ethan quickly dissuaded him. “It’s illegal to buy and sell organs. But don’t lose hope yet. When I was studying medicine, my teacher told me about a doctor at the border who has miraculous skilk. If we can find this doctor, perhaps we can save Anthony” 

“Let’s waste no time. We’ll fly to the border immediately,” William commanded, signaling his subordinates to pack.

To avoid attracting attention, Anthony had Ethan lie in his bed and pretend to be him, hoping to deceive anyone who might be watching and buy them some time. With a few trusted people accompanying him, Anthony left quietly by plane overnight. 

A sinister undercurrent lurked that night 

The next morning, just before dawn, Cynthia woke up in Serene Residence wondering if Liam had a good night’s sleep. Quietly slipping out of bed, she tiptoed to the window and glanced into the yard. Evan, who had been sitting by the door earlier, was no longer there, likely having retired to his room. Her eyes lit up, and she gently pushed open her bedroom door and made her way to the kitchen. Unsure if Evan would prepare breakfast for Liam, she decided to make something herself and deliver it to him while everyone else was still asleep. Cynthia approached the pickup truck and gently opened the door to see Liam leaning back in the seat, sleeping soundly. Silently, she settled beside him, placing the food aside, and quietly admired his handsome features.

A few minutes later, Liam furrowed his brow before slowly opening his eyes. When he spotted Cynthia, his complexion appeared paler than usual as he asked in a low, hoarse voice. “What are you doing here?“–
