Chapter 259
Hallet spent the whole night on the bench. The first thing he did when he woke up was to lean over and look through the door at Queena. Aher making sure Queena was all right, he didn’t go in. After all, Vincent was still there. If he went in now, he might not even have a chance to say anything and would be driven away as someone with ulterior motives. Hallet stayed at the door for a few minutes until the doctors in the hospital began to make their rounds. He had to head to Larson Group later, so he could only leave first
As he stood waiting at the elevator door, a tall man with an aloof temperament walked out. The man was carrying a thermostat in his hand. Haller couldn’t help but take a second look at the man. This was a VII floor, and there were not many wards, with most being single rooms. The man was tall, with long legs, and walked fast. Hallet watched him enter Queena’s ward. Someone who comes early in the morning to the hospital to deliver breakfast can’t be an ordinary friend. Plus, I’ve not heard of Queena having another brother. Is he my formidable competitor in my pursuit of Queena?‘ wondered Hallet. He immediately decided he wasn’t going to the company. He secretly turned back and hid outside the door to eavesdrop.
Vincent and
Queena were surprised to see Cameron suddenly appear in the ward. “Why are you here early in the morning?” Vincent asked, Cameron gestured to the lunchbox in his hand. T’m here for meal delivery?
Hearing this. Vincent frowned deeply and looked at Cameron strangely. His year of being friends with Cameron had taught him that Cameron wasn’t a warm–hearted person. Although Cameron usually looked like a nice and amiable man, only those who knew him would know that he was cold and indifferent about many things. Although he seemed to be easygoing, there weren’t many people whom he treated sincerely. Vincent and Cameron became friends because they grew up together, but they were not friendly to the extent Cameron would be bringing in breakfast. Plus, wealthy people like them didn’t need to worry about food at all because they had cooks and drivers. Cameron was clear about this, which was why seeing him bring breakfast over in person felt unusual to Vincent. But Vincent couldn’t say anything because Cameron meant well Vincent reached out and said, “Pass me the lunchbox.”
But Cameron didn’t hand it to him. Instead, he pulled over the table on the bed and placed the lunch box on it. Then, he helped Queena sit up. The whole process was meticulous, except for Vincent being completely ignored.
Hallet, standing outside the ward, clenched his fists, especially when he saw Cameron feeding Queena, and Queena actually eating it. He could feel his hackles rising. He hated himself for not thinking of this earlier
At this moment, another patient’s family member walked by with food. Hallet stopped her and took out all the cash on him, saying, “Hello, my girlfriend was hospitalized last night. I don’t have time to go home and cook breakfast now, and outside food is unhealthy. Can you sell this meal to me? Then, he handed over all the cash. This is money for the food. The woman looked at the money in her hand and roughly counted it. There were almost 600 dollars. She was overjoyed, not expecting to encounter such a wonderful thing. Although she wasn’t poor, her mood was elevated after encountering such a great thing in the morning. She readily gave the lunch box to Hallet while Haller thanked her and quickly pushed the door open
The three people in the ward looked over at the same time.
Hallet calmly walked toward the hospital bed and shoved Cameron away. Then, he pushed the food on the table to the edge before placing the lunch box he just bought in the middle. “Queena, you can’t eat this greasy food in your current condition. You can recover faster if you take something light,” said Hallet as he opened the lunch box. As soon as he saw the food in the lunch box, he paused and stopped talking abruptly. Hallet looked at the shepherd’s pie in it, and his eyebrows twitched. He cursed the woman out in his mind, ‘Who the hell eats shepherd’s pie early in the morning? Even normal people can’t eat it, let alone patients. Doesn’t she have any common sense! And I even spent so much money on this. Hallet could feel awkwardness climbing over his face as he recalled what he did after entering the ward.
“You must be joking, right?” mocked Cameron, looking at the oatmeal he had brought over. Te crossed his arms to watch the drama unfold.
Hallet smiled stiffly and tried to come up with an excuse, “I must have taken the wrong lunchbox”
Cameron sneered, “Please check carefully before delivering the meal next time. You don’t want to become a joke, do you? Then, he handed the shepherd’s pie back to Hallet, adding, “You’d better take the shepherd’s pie back and enjoy it yourself”
Hallet took it back gloomily.
“Excuse me, please,” Cameron motioned for Hallet to step aside as he put the lunchbox he had brought back in the middle of the table, holding t spoon as if he were going to feed Queena again.
the
Hallet looked on indignantly. He wasn’t willing to give up yet. He stretched out his hand and held the other side of the bowl. He looked at Cameron coldly and snapped grimly, “Sorry for troubling you to bring food for Queena. You can leave the rest to me.”
Just as Hallet was about to grab the spoon, Cameron dodged and held tight to the bowl. “I’m doing this for Queena. What’s it to you?
Tension flared up as their gazes clashed in the air.
Seeing them almost get into a fight, Vincent suddenly shouted, “Both of you, get out of here!” He had been having a bad feeling these past few days. now he knew it was because someone was trying to hit on Queena,
Faced with Vincent’s anger, Hallet and Cameron, who were staring off at each other, calmed down slightly. But none of them were willing to back down first.
“You let go first, seethed Hallet.
“You first,” argued Cameron.
Two minutes later, Vincent couldn’t stand it anymore. He grabbed the bowl and drove them out. Then, he walked over to Queena and asked seriously. “What’s wrong with them?”
Queena’s head was spinning from all the noise. She had already lost her appetite and lay back in bed, massaging her forehead. I want to know, too.”

Of all the terrible translations this is by far the worst. Garbled rubbish with different languages in between. I wouldn't recommend this novel!...
