Chapter 424
a plopped down
“Hey, Jonathan, it’s Marina. Remember me? We studied together abroad, and I came back to the country just for you,” Marina | unabashedly next to Jonathan.
As Marina sat down, Jonathan was hit by an overpowering scent that made him grimace. He promptly stood up and migrated to the other end of the courh
It was only then that he vaguely remembered. Back in his days studying abroad, he had indeed met a girl from Clusia. Being from the same country, he had shown her some care.
Jonathan squinted at Marina, barely recognizing her from subtle clues. However, rather than display excitement at seeing an acquaintance, he felt even more repulsed.
“Why does it concern me that you’re back in the country?” He hadn’t forgotten her past antics. She had made various attempts to pursue him, causing embarrassing scenes at school, all in a bid to force a relationship that had left him no choice but to return home hastily:
Ignoring Jonathan’s skeptical expression. Marina scooted closer. This time, she took the initiative to cling to Jonathan’s arm, her ample bosom pressing against his arm.
“Jonathan, I came back for you. Why are you so cold? Marina pouted and spoke in a cloying tone. But her naturally rough voice, combined with the affected sweet talk, was sickeningly off–putting. That familiar irritation nearly made Jonathan craz
“I’ve told you before. I don’t like you, and I never will. Besides, I have a girlfriend now. Don’t bother me anymore,” Jonathan declared.
“I don’t believe you. I’ve checked, and you don’t have a girlfriend, Marina retorted confidently.
“Believe it or not. I’m warning you. Don’t bother me again. This isn’t the same as abroad. I won’t endure it.” Jonathan controlled his urge to lash out, stood up, and left abruptly. His swift movement accidentally knocked over a glass on the table, the sharp sound echoing on impact as it shattered.
Outside, Reina heard the commotion and thought something was amiss. She pushed the door open and rushed inside. In that split second, she collided with Jonathan, who was about to leave. The man’s chest was firm, hitting her nose squarely, nearly bringing tears to her eyes.
Jonathan was taken aback by the sudden intrusion, his initial thought questioning whether this person might be Marina’s accomplice. However, secing the woman looking teary–eyed and righteous, he immediately dismissed that idea.
With the delay caused by this, Marina had already charged forward. Paying no attention to Reina, she grabbed them heavily, exclaiming, “Why did you run into Jonathan’s arms! He’s mine, and you better keep your hands of him!”
Irritated by Marina’s actions. Reina was about to erupt when Jonathan suddenly led her aside. Before she could react, she heard him say, “See, this is my girlfriend. Don’t waste your time bothering me
“What is it? I just want to see if anyone is committing a crime. What’s going on here Reina thought to herself
Before she could explain, Marina erupted in fury, swinging her arms towards Reina’s face. “You despicable woman dared to seduce my dear Jonathan. I’ll kill you!” she shouted.
Marinas voice was too loud for Reina to cut in. Fortunately, as a police officer, Reina managed to handle Marina’s aggressive moves, aided by Jonathan protecting her, and preventing any scratches from Marina.
It was Jonathan who ended up with several cuts on his hand from protecting Reina “Enough” Jonathan shouted in exasperation, silencing the
room
Tears streamed down Marina’s face. Her makeup was smudged and her hair was disheveled. With all these, she looked totally like a madwoman. Though she ceased her physical actions, she kept on grumbling–
It was only then that she recognized Reina as the police officer from the other day. A glimmer of hope sparked within her.
She turned to Jonathan. You can’t deceive me, Jonathan. You say she’s your girlfriend, but do you even know what she does?
At that moment, Jonathan still held Reina close, his voice cold and steady as he replied. “What she does is none of your concern.”
“You clearly have no idea. You’re just afraid Il pester you, so you lied to me, Marina retorted.
It was only now that Reina pieced together the situation from their conversation. So, it was a case of the man being heartless while the woman was intentional. Reina slowly raised her head, glancing at Jonathan with a hint of exasperation.
Marina really should take a good look at herself. A man like Jonathan could never be interested in her.
However, all of this was not her concern. Just starting her career at the police station, it was Reina’s time to shine and she didn’t want to waste it on
these matters
Chapter 424
Just as Reina was about to explain, Jonathan, who was beside her, suddenly spoke up. “Since you don’t believe, then watch”
With those words, Reina felt hands at the hack of her head and chin, followed by a shadow looming over her, and the unfamiliar breath of Jonathan on her lips
For a moment. Reina was frozen, unable to hear the surrounding commotion, her heartbeats drowning out everything

Of all the terrible translations this is by far the worst. Garbled rubbish with different languages in between. I wouldn't recommend this novel!...
