“If it wasn’t you, then it must really be their own fault, Camila said.

“Exactly, it’s karma! It’s so satisfying. I’d thank that tattooed guy in person if I met him. Can you believe he didn’t even take the ten thousand bucks? What a hero!”

Camila hummed in agreement, “Under the Food Safety Act, they’d only be liable for a thousand dollars in compensation. Not taking ten thousand is really suspicious.”

After hanging up, Camila called Cole. “I know the owner of that diner. She opened it there just to spite me. I have no clue about the cockroach incident, but she’ll definitely blame me. I’m worried she might retaliate against my mom. Please keep an eye out, Cole, and don’t mention this to Mom. I don’t want her to worry.”

Camila explained the situation. After her mom, Cole was the most trustworthy person.
