Chapter 146
He was breathing heavily, feeling still a bit hot, and decided to go home for a shower and a change of clothes.

Camila slept until noon, groggily sitting up in bed. Her stomach felt warm, as if something was there. So she lifted her nightgown and
looked down.
She was taken aback. When had she put this thing on?
Her mind raced. It wasn’t her doing.
Only Connor knew her apartment’s code and he was the only one who had visited. He must have put the band on..
Camila’s heart skipped a beat, and she frantically grabbed the cellphone from the nightstand.
It was turned off. She rolled over to plug in the charger, but it wouldn’t charge. She then noticed the outlet was loose.
After securing the charger, her phone turned on within half a minute. Connor had called her eight times and sent thirteen messages.
Camila slapped her forehead, burying her head into the pillow. She was still in her pajama pants, oh how embarrassing.
She removed the waist patch, tied up her long hair casually, and grabbed some clothes to take a shower.
As she opened the bedroom door and passed through the living room, Camila froze. “You, you, you’re still here?” she stammered, startled.
Connor sat on the couch, a laptop on his lap, surrounded by dozens of documents.
Connor looked up, slightly stunned to see her. She was still in her nightgown, her curves clearly visible.
Connor’s eyes trembled slightly, then he quickly averted his gaze. That damn heat surged again.
He frowned slightly, coughed softly, and took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. In a quiet voice, he said, “I was worried you might pass away at home unnoticed.”
Camila remembered she wasn’t wearing a bra, so she silently shifted the clothes in her hands upward to cover her chest. “I’m going to take a shower.”
With that, she quickly walked to the bathroom.
