Logan popped up out of nowhere, his face dark and stormy, glaring at Wesley.
In a voice as cold as ice, he demanded, "What do you think you're doing?"
Erica, caught off guard by his sudden anger, quickly tried to explain, "Logan, you've got it all wrong, Wesley was just..."
"Just what?" Logan cut her off, his eyes snapping back to Wesley, blazing with hostility. "You like her? You trying to steal my girl?"
Wesley looked up and met Logan’s furious gaze without flinching. “Yeah, I’ve liked her for years.”
Logan’s anger flared even hotter at those words. He yanked Erica into his arms, holding her tight. “She’s mine. Don’t even think about it!”
Erica winced from his grip, struggling to pull away. "Logan, let go of me."
But Logan was beyond reason now, his eyes filled with nothing but rage and possessiveness. He kept his intense stare locked on Wesley.
Wesley’s heart sank as he watched them. He knew he didn’t stand a chance. This love he had kept hidden for so long, it was only destined to end in silence and regret.
Forcing a bitter smile, he gave Erica a small, almost unnoticeable wave. It was a gesture so subtle, yet it carried all his sadness and reluctance.
It felt like he was saying goodbye to his youth, to the dream he had cherished in secret for so many years.
Then he turned and walked away, his silhouette stretching long and lonely in the sunset...
Erica watched Wesley’s retreating figure, her eyes filling with tears. This childhood friend of hers was now lost...
Logan, too, watched Wesley walk away and for a moment, he saw Rita in his place. He sighed softly...
After a moment, he looked down at Erica, noticing her red-rimmed eyes, both fragile and strong.
