A Promising Youth novel Chapter 38

Master said that when I had the ability, I should help more people. However, I was not only to help the school, but also through this singing competition to get to know Mayor Brian.

At least for now, this was my best chance!

I had to help Clara during the day, so naturally the kid's rehearsal was scheduled in the evening after school.

On the way back to the company, Clara's attitude towards me suddenly became good again, and she always tugged my arm from time to time and said.

“Wait, why are you walking so fast?

I can't even catch up with you.”

I slowed my pace; She panted and hit me, saying.

“I didn't know you can even play the piano!”

She tilted her head, with a hint of adoration in her eyes.

But I stopped in my tracks, looked at her seriously and said.

“Clara, listen to me, Marcel is not a good person, stay away from him, ok?”

Hearing me said this, her face, which had been smiling, suddenly went cold.

“Matteo, I can't figure out why you have to target him? I know Marcel is excellent, but as a man, can't you be more generous?”

“I'm not generous? Clara, listen carefully, Marcel stays in the factory just to get the formula of 'General Grey'. He doesn't love you, you should stop daydreaming. He is just a scum!”

I said through gritted teeth in anger.

“Who is daydreaming? Who's the scum?”

She instantly grabbed me by the shirt, looked at me and said indignantly.

“You're a good man, your girlfriend is good man, you're both good men. People of mediocre ability like us are scum in your eyes, aren't we?”

I said as I held her back.

“I didn't mean it that way. I was telling you the fact! Marcel isn't as good as you think, he'll hurt you!”

But she cried and yelled at me.

“You're the one who hurt me! The company is on the right track, and we have hope now, but you quit and left me alone to struggle.

I know you're going to her. You're both wonderful people who can do great things together. How could you take our garment factory in your eyes?”

I bit my lip, looked away and said.

“Don't get me wrong, she's not my girlfriend.”

“Who are you fooling? She's admitted it herself. Why are you denying it? Do you need to explain that to me?!”

She covered her mouth sadly and I didn't know why she was like that. Did she like me?

But if she liked me, why didn't she say it?

Why was she so cold to me while nice to Marcel?

“Believe it or not, I'll just give you a reminder. I hope you protect yourself from Marcel! It doesn't matter if he hurt yourself, but don't drag me down with you!”

With that, I turned coldly away.

If she really liked me, why didn’t she tell me?

I was a poor country boy and I got nothing. She was good enough to me!

But the fact that she didn't say anything was proof enough that she liked Marcel.

Back to the factory workshop, I worked with Diego. After that, I went to the clothing design room and was ready to design children's performance clothes and student uniforms.

Clothing design room had been established not long ago. It was used to design clothes for the leader. There were just two girls, who were busy in the design of the ladies bra.

When they saw me come in, the two girls rushed over and asked me how I was going to design it.

I pulled out my cigarette and lit it, took a deep drag and said.

“Just three points, first, it should be comfortable and made of good materials; second, it should be easy to wear and breathable; and third, and most importantly, a woman's bra, which is worn for men, should have a slightly more daring appearance and design. You are women, you naturally understand.”

As soon as I said that, the two girls came to their senses. I put out my cigarette, took out a pen and paper to design the students' performance costumes and school uniforms.

All morning, I stayed in the design room, and occasionally went around the workshop. Clara did not contact me. I guessed she was with Marcel.
