Chapter 107
Leah was still trying to wrap her head around what Hunter mentioned earlier about a ten-year-old child that he had to take care of when she heard the conversation between Hunter and Sage.
Leah wondered to herself: ‘What did he mean by ‘back on good terms’?’
Could it be that the man in the car earlier was Sage’s ex-boyfriend?
Furrowing her brows slightly, Sage said, “What’s with the fuss,”
Hunter collected himself and crossed his arms in front of his chest. “Sorry, I was too worked up.”
Sensing that something was off, Leah quickly said, “Sage, I’ll let you get back to work and perhaps Mister Hunter can send me to Norah Jewel so that I can adjust myself to the new environment.”
“Okay.” Saga added, “You can talk to Hunter if you have any questions. Make sure to stay humble when you’re there, and do more, talk less.”
Leah nodded. “Okay, Sage.”
She then tugged softly at Hunter’s sleeve. Hunter turned to see the nervous look written all over Leah’s face and found it funny that his junior was actually trying to save him.
Jace had rented a suite at Yoel’s Skye Hotel,
Perhaps he did not sleep well last night, Jace’s mind was reeling.
His mind was crowded with Sage – the words she said, the way she looked when she talked, the color of her eyes. Everything about her was replaying over and over again in his mind like a broken record.
She told him that she did not love her anymore.
Jace pulled into a bitter smile. He thought that anyone would have left defeatedly and disappointedly after being treated this coldly by him.
More so when it was the prideful and arrogant Sage Norah.
He could only imagine how Sage had felt, how she had to put away all of her pride when she stood there in front of him, with tears o n her face, asking him to dismiss their divorce.
But back then, Jace only had eyes for Sienna.
