Chapter 123
Sage’s voice was clear as day, but to Yeva, it sounded like a thunderclap. She was terrified.
Yeva knew that Sage was never one to eat her words. “No! No! You cannot hit me-” Yeva gasped as she shook her head vigorously from side to side. She fell from the bed and crawled toward the exit. She needed to leave, immediately.
Two bodyguards blocked her way as soon as she reached for the door. Without having to use much strength, they pushed her back into the room. Yeva fell onto the carpet.
The two bodyguards said solemnly, “Miss Sage, do we need to tie her up?”
Sage sat by the bed. She held up an antique ruler that she had given to Yeva as a gift. “Do you want me to tie you up, or are you going to kneel and accept your punishment?”
Simply put, Yeva had to do what was told and quit her antics.
Yeva clenched her teeth. She knew she had to admit defeat this round. She could not be bothered with trying to preserve her ego any longer. Yeva crawled toward Sage, “Sage, please have mercy on me. I was foolish and wrong. I promise I won’t ever do it again!”
“That was quick,” Sage snickered. Her words held no emotion. “You’re not foolish, you were just never smart. I had shown you mercy on countless occasions, so why should I be merciful this time?” Sage lightly hit her with the ruler as she said that. It was not very painful, but it was enough to scare the hell out of Yeva. She froze.
Yeva could not understand what had happened. They had a perfect game plan. How did Sage escape so effortlessly?
