Chapter 199
“You know, spreading her legs in exchange for cash.” “Wow… why did she come here to Salem then? She’s polluting our environment.” “What else? Her reputation was so awful that people kicked her out. She had to move to a new place for more opportunities.” As Gwyneth heard all the mockery, she was reminded of her ugly past. She could not believe all her secrets were revealed. “Enough!!” Finally, she could not take it anymore. She gritted her teeth and said, “Show me the evidence! How dare you accuse me of something I’m not? I’ll sue all of you for defamation! You’ll be hearing from my lawyer, just you wait!” Gwyneth kniew she could not stay any longer. She picked up her pursed and reached for the door, but Sage was out of her way. “Wait a minute, where do you think you’re going, leaving and coming in as you wish?” Sage asked with one eyebrow raised. Gwyneth glared at her and asked, “What do you want from me?” Sage looked at Leah and said, “Leah, I’m so sorry I couldn’t protect you in the past few years.” Leah shook her head as tears welled up in her eyes. “Don’t say that Sage, that was not your fault. I wasn’t strong enough to protect myself and my Mother.” Hunter’s heart ached as he saw her face, and he almost wanted to blurt out that he’ll protect her from now on!
Sage held her hands and gently said, “I’ll repay my wrongdoings today. I’ll repay you for all the humiliation and violence caused. Do you accept it?” Leah felt a surge of energy transmitted from her. She suddenly felt fearless as her big sister was there to support her. “I’ll accept it. I’m afraid this will backfire on you though,” said Leah. “Don’t worry about me. I actually hate fighting violence with violence, but some people are really asking for it,” Sage sighed. There’s no fairytale. In the real world, the villains rule the world.”
“Hunter,” Sage said, “Do we still have that dark little cabin in Norastar?” “Yes, we do!” Hunter immediately understood, and he ordered the security guards to bring Gwyneth over to the cabin.
Gwyneth was as pale as a ghost as she realized that everything was happening for real. She struggled as she yelled, “Let me go! What are you trying to do? Sage, if you dare do this, I’ll…”
“Leave,” Sage patted Leah’s back and said, “I’ll wait for you. Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty.” Leah nodded vigorously. This was the only chance she would ever get, thanks to Sage. She did not want to let her down.
