Chapter 224
Sage understood Jace well, but she knew Luther even better. Her brother Luther never did things that did not benefit him. Jace must have given him something he wanted as his attitude toward Jace drastically changed. As for Jace, he’s a man acting on a purpose. He would do anything to achieve his goals. Jace’s current goal is to pursue Sage’s love, and since he kept getting rejected, he would find another way at it. Luther fell into his trap and he might be in unison with him already. Jace stared deeply at sage. He often felt transparent around sage, and she could read him instantly no matter what he thought or did. She never held back Jace said lightly, “Don’t worry, I’ll never cause your brother any harm.” His answer was generic, but to Sage, it was as if lightning struck her. Sage furrowed her brows and asked, “Did you investigate me?” Jace always thought Sage was a talented mindreader. She could always hit straight to the point. He admittedly said, “Yes.”
Sage’s brows narrowed and stuck to each other. It was not that she could read minds, but she knew Jace too well from loving him for a decade and being married to him for three years. Plus, she knew Jace never gave up on his goals. He tried investigating her once, but she rebuked him. That doesn’t mean Jace would give up.
Before this, Jace was jealous of Luther for always being with her. However, now, he could have meals with him. Therefore, Jace probably knew of their relationship as siblings. Could it be… Jace managed to hack into her encrypted personal files? As Sage deduced, she felt angrier and angrier. She asked in a cold tone, “What did you find out?»
“Not too much,” Jace responded lightly, “I know you’re half-sisters to five elder brothers, and Luther was the youngest of the lot.”
Sage’s pupils darkened.
