Chapter 279 “I don’t need you saving my money!” Sage pretended to be angry. She placed her hands on her waist and said, “You must accept this gesture today, if not you’ll be staying the night.”. Everyone cheered, “Accept it! Accept it!” sim didn’t know how to react to such a situation. Myles laughed along and said, “Quickly, everyone’s waiting for you.” Jim took one of the envelopes and opened it, it was more than anyone had gotten here. Everyone started cheering, “Jim must have done it on purpose! No way, he needs to give it back now!”
Jim was used to it by now. It was the same with his basketball team.
“Okay, hold on.” Jim went and prepare a few envelopes.
Before he started, he looked at Sage and said, “Get ready, Miss Sage.” “I have to join in too?” Sage was shocked. “Of course,” Jim used the same tone she had just now. “Okay, I’ll participate. Watch out, you guys,” Sage raised her hands and pointed at everyone. As Jim raised his arms, everyone looked like they were about to race in a marathon. It was hilarious. . “Ready, set—”
It was chaotic. They caught the envelopes at lightning speed. He leaned toward Sage so she could grab one too. Sage was lucky. She did manage to get one but when she opened it… it was only a dollar. She was stunned. Jim looked at her and burst out laughing. Sage nudged him with her elbow. Why was he laughing at her demise! He should learn to respect his Grandmaster! The lucky ones packed up and left happily, whereas Sage stared at her dollar bill and sighed. The world could be cruel sometimes. Myles thought of something as he was about to leave. “Master, it’s your birthday soon. Are you going to celebrate it here this year?” Sage has always celebrated her birthday here except for the last three years. Myles wanted to hold a party for her this time round. Jim raised a brow, “Miss Sage, when’s your birthday?” “June tenth,” Sage answered as she turned to Myles. “I wasn’t going to, but my brothers insisted on it. Let’s have a simple celebration, I plan to cook for everyone this year. Please prepare the ingredients for me. I’ll send you the list later on.” “Alright, no problem,” Myles promised. “I want to come too!” Jim hurriedly said.
Myles’s eyes widened. “No way, your Grandmaster will be having a family celebration on her birthday. No one else is invited. Don’t cause a scene here.” Jim said in a disgruntled voice, “But I’m not just anybody…”
“You dare to speak against me!” Myles was going to reprimand his disciple but Sage stopped him, “It’s no big deal. You don’t have to raise your voice.” Sage looked at Jim’s earnest eyes, “Okay, you can help out this year.” “Hey…” Myles looked at Sage as she waved her hand, “It’s okay. Jim is one of us.” Jim was delighted as he heard Sage backing him up. After a long day, Sage finally took a break in the car.
Her phone notification rang. It was a bank transfer from Jim, and there was a note attached to it.
[This time, you’re the luckiest.] Sage laughed, “This kid…”
