Chapter 31
“Tum it off! Turn it off right now!”
Screaming at the top of her lungs, Sienna had finally lost her calm. Her bridesmaids stood by, playing the role of a bystander. They were secretly happy that Sienna had tripped over her own arrogance.
The projector was turned off. The emcee was filled with panic by the number of unexpected interruptions.
“Jace, those photos are clearly edited. It’s not me in the photos! Someone must be jealous that I’m marrying you, and they must have set me up!”
Sienna looked terrified as she clutched Jace’s arm. The crown sat askew on her head, and several strands of hair floated loosely around her. Her face, caked in heavy makeup, had turned as white as a sheet of paper.
Jace could tell if the photos had been edited. Even though he had a thousand questions, and his head was filled with doubt, he was still concerned over Sienna’s health.
“There now, you’re already weak, and you should not let this worry you. Let’s talk about this once the ceremony ends.”
Sienna immediately placed her hands on her stomach and bit her lips. Looking as if she was about to pass out any minute, she staggered weakly into Jace’s arms.
“Jace, I can’t hold on any longer. Can you ask the emcee to hurry the ceremony?”
Sienna could not be bothered with going through with the ceremony any longer. All she wanted was for the ceremony to be over without any further mishaps.
Jace signaled the emcee, and he skipped all the unnecessary parts of his speech, going straight to the exchange of rings.
“Wait!”
Just when the ceremony was finally about to resume, it was interrupted again. Only this time, it was not Zachary, but Faye who had interrupted. Faye had picked up the papers that were scattered about the floor and had gone through the documents.
Unlike her short-tempered brother, Faye who was dressed in a beige dress walked toward Sienna with steady steps. In a firm voice, she said, “Miss Sienna, do you really have stomach cancer?”
Sienna froze. When faced with Faye’s question, she looked as if she had been struck by lightning.
As Faye was not equipped with a mic, only those who were on stage had heard her. The bridesmaids stared at Sienna with eyes filled with doubt.
“Sienna, since when did you have gastric cancer? I thought you have anorexia?”
“Anorexia?” Jace furrowed his brows as he turned to look at Sienna and said, “Is it not stomach cancer?”
