She stood on the stage with a darkened face, glaring at Sage from a distance.

How could Sage wander around during such an important ceremony and almost cause a distraction? She was always trying to steal Yeva’s spotlights.

‘I’m the only main character today. No one is allowed to steal my spotlight!’ Yeva thought to herself.

The photo slideshow finally came to an end, and the emcee finished her speech about fate and whatnot, concluding it with the couple being childhood sweethearts and how their marriage had been decided by the cupid since the beginning.

Leah listened quietly, but her mind was elsewhere.

Sage and Julian were supposed to be the real childhood sweethearts since Julian always used to follow Sage around, while Yeva tailed behind Sage and Julian, unwelcomed by the pair.

Sage watched expressionlessly. It’s no news to her that Yeva was a good actress, she got better at crying on cue, but her intelligence, on the other hand, was stagnant.
