Chapter 405 Sienna’s father, Dane Zelda, hoped to bring the family back to its glory through a business marriage. He pinned all his hope on his sister Luna and his daughter Sienna.
He raised them to be elegant and gracious. The girls studied various courses for noble and cultivated artistic sentiments since their childhood. Unfortunately, he forgot to teach them the necessary ethics and virtues to be a good person. As a result, he raised them to become two superficial women.
Luna and Sienna were prime examples of someone beautiful yet superficial. As everyone knew, marrying such a woman would only worsen the family’s reputation.
Sage went to the hospital to bring Wayne home. From a distance, she could see Leah seated on the long bench near the ward, as if she was daydreaming in a daze. When Leah saw Sage, she hurriedly wiped her eyes and stood up to greet her. “Sage, welcome back.”
Then, she moved her gaze to Hunter and greeted him with a smile. “Hunter.” Hunter smiled, but it did not last. His face turned dark when he noticed that Leah’s left cheek was unusually red. He stepped forward and held her chin. “What happened? Your cheek…”
Leah flinched. “It’s nothing…”
Sage furrowed her brows too. Suddenly, they heard someone crying and sobbing from inside the ward. It sounded horrible yet familiar. Hunter’s face turned gloomy. He recognized the voice from inside. “Did your father hit you?”
Leah did not answer, but she nodded with red eyes. She was afraid that Sage would be angry, so she raised her head and said anxiously, “I wanted to hide, but I couldn’t…”
Leah was afraid that Sage would be angry. Sage frowned and moved toward the room.
The bodyguards at the door bowed in unison and greeted Sage. They noticed her sour expression and explained in a hurry, “Please don’t worry. Mister Wando is inside. Mister Zane has been making noises in the hospital for hours, and Mister Wayne agreed to let him in…”
