Chapter 588
About five minutes later, Laura and Kane came downstairs together. Zamora followed behind them in embarrassment.
Sage sipped her soup and looked at Laura. She asked knowingly, “What’s all the fuss about? What happened?”
Kane followed behind Laura and glared at Sage, telling her to shut up and eat. Sage pretended not to see his warning. She pulled the chair next to her for Laura to sit. Laura yawned and said lazily, “Hey, don’t mention it. I woke up and opened my eyes to see Kane’s big face in front of me. It scared me…”
When she said that, everyone looked at Kane.
Kane had such a small and handsome face. Why did she say big face?
Laura might have misunderstood the size of his face..
Laura claimed she was scared, but there was no fear on her face. She took a bite of the bread and continued, “I fell right off the bed and somehow landed on Kane.”
Kane sat across from Laura and wore a calm look on his face.
While the servants gave Laura and Kane sets of cutleries, Zamora filled Kane’s glass with milk. “Kane, drink up.”
Kane disliked drinking milk. He frowned and pushed it aside.
“Zamora, aren’t I too old to drink milk?”
Zamora glared at him and said with a serious look, “I’m too old to be looking at images like that, Kane.”
Kane was lost for words.
Hunter and Leah pursed their lips and snickered while Sage openly laughed at Kane.
Zamora scolded him, and he deserved it.
Kane silently picked up his cup. “I’ll drink the milk.”
