Chapter 596 Sage’s head hurt badly. The world seemed to blur, and she could barely keep her eyes open. She could vaguely hear Jekyll’s low and helpless voice sounding in her ears. “You’re such a desperate woman.” After that, countless headlights came near. Many people rushed toward them. She vaguely heard a familiar voice calling out to her, “Sage, Sage…” Someone seemed to have picked her up, and she fell into a very warm embrace.
She was so tired, so tired. She tried to love something with all she had. She tried to live her life well. She tried to protect her family… but she still could not find her parents.
When Sage woke up again, she opened her eyes and smelled the smell of disinfectant. “She’s awake! She’s finally awake!”
A group of people surrounded the bed.
Sage felt a little dizzy and closed her eyes. When she opened them again, she saw Jace so close to her.
She stared at him and suddenly muttered, “Huh? Your hair is longer?” There was only silence. Jace was half leaning against the window in the ward while listening to Kane’s continuous rants at Sage. Sage listened to Kane’s scolding obediently, but she seemed to be a little distracted by Jace. Her eyes involuntarily shifted to Jace’s head. Jace had indeed grown out his hair. He had a slicked-back, military look. He looked tough with that hairstyle. When she first met him, he looked like this too.
The best thing in life was the first time she met her first love. Sage could not resist glancing at him a couple more times. Kane looked at Sage’s wandering eyes and distracted look and got angry. He crossed his arms and shouted, “Sage, I’m talking to you. Are you listening?!” Sage was startled by his loud roar. “I am…” Sage hurriedly responded. Seeing Kane’s livid face, she coaxed helplessly, “Okay, okay. I’m sorry. I know it was a little risky, but at least we caught the guy, right?”
“Is that a little risky?”
Kane put on a cold face and poked her gauze-covered forehead. “You’re only hurting yourself to catch the enemy!”
