Chapter 651
Sage sat up in an instant, and her eyes sparkled in anticipation. “Are you saying she’s the one?”
“Yeah.”
Seth smiled lightly, and his eyes were filled with determination. “I guess it runs in the family. We’re just such passionate lovers. Once we’ve found the one we’re looking for, nothing can stop us from pursuing them.”
Sage’s heart skipped a beat. An image of a person flashed before her eyes as her heart ached.
Indeed.
However, how she wished she was an exception.
In the evening, Sage thought she had received another surprise from one of her brothers.
It was indeed a surprise. However, it was not from her brothers but from her godfather. Senior Shelby, Tim’s biological father and Sage’s godfather, came all the way to Meadow Castle with a truckload of gifts.
“Godfather!”
Sage knew that her godfather had been going through a recuperation in a small town. The last thing she expected was a visit from him. Sage was ecstatic and flew over to him to greet him. “My dear daughter, oh how I’ve missed you!” said Senior Shelby with a heavy accent after exchanging cheek kisses with Sage.
Seth, too, greeted Senior Shelby with a smile before exchanging a warm embrace.
Senior Shelby was a man in his late fifties. He was a healthy-looking and humorous old man.
He came all the way after hearing that Sage had come to Birmingham.
When Senior Shelby learned that his son had been confining Sage, his kind and loving face immediately darkened as he accused Tim of acting like a fascist.
“What danger is there in Birmingham? It’s our territory, and there’s nothing to worry about. Just have an army here to protect her. I’ll make a few calls myself. Sage can go wherever she wants to go.”
Senior Shelby lectured his son a whole lot in a foreign language while Sage stood aside and snickered satisfyingly. Somebody had finally come to her rescue.
Unsure if Tim was doing it for his father or brothers, he finally withdrew Sage’s confinement order.
Sage was finally allowed to go outside under strict protection.
Sage was ecstatic, and she dragged her godfather and two brothers to Rosa Island for a vacation.
The three grown men lay on top of beach chairs and watched as Sage swam around like a mermaid, their faces filled with happiness.
Senior Shelby chuckled and said, “How youthful and lively. When your mother was young, she was just as fast and lively. There was not a second of rest for her.”
Tim shook his head and said, “Mother was way more composed than this little monkey here.”
Seth nodded in agreement. He remembered his mother to have quite a temper but definitely more quiet and composed than Sage.
“That’s because you’ve not seen Prim when she was younger. She was edgy and wild. No men were able to contain her, not even me,” said Senior Shelby.
