Chapter 679
She went to the stretcher and raised lier trembling hand She stiffly pulled back the white cloth and saw Jace’s deformed and cold face. He just lay there quietly in silence He was so quiet, like he was asleep He was probably just asleep
Yes He was just asleep.
“What are you guys still standing around for?” Sage suddenly spoke up with a raspy voice, “Take the patient to the ward and let him rest” Everyone stared at hier in shock. No one responded. Sage got angry None of them listened to her. Why? Nevermind. She could push hersell.
Sage walked around the bed and pushed the stretcher toward thie ward Cling. She heard a noise and something seemed to fall from Jace’s palm. She stopped walking and looked down to see a hairpin. It was a wooden hairpin that broke into half there was a rose carved on the wooden hairpin thal was stained with blood.
It looked like a blood-red rose.
Drip. A tear fell from Sage’s eyes. She raised her hand and tried to wipe her eyes dry. For some reason, the lears in her eyes gaviered and started streaming down her cheek uncontrollably. She continued wiping her tears stubbomly, not wanting to shed a single tear. Zayne came over, picked up the broken wooden hairpin, held it in his hand, and handed it to Sage
His voice was hoarse, “This wooden hairpin Mister Jace clutched it right in his hand and refused to let go. Now, it’s back to its rightful owner.” Tears fell uncontrollably again Sage crouched down and buried her face in her palm. The only sound in the corridor was the low whimper of a child crying The door to the operating room suddenly opened. A nurse shouted, “Is Yale’s family here? Is the family here yet? The patient has lost a lot of blood and needs a transfusion. Who is AB blood type here?” Luther and Seth came forward together and yelled, “I am!” “Come and get your blood type tested.” There was a distinct murmur from inside. “No, this won’t do. It’s too bad. He’s not breathing again… Is the dean here? Call him now!”
Tim walked over to Sage and knelt in front of her. He ran his large hands through Sage’s soft hair and patted her.
“Sage, don’t cry Yale needs you, and we need you 100.” He took Sage’s hand away and saw a tear-stained face. Tim lifted his hand and wiped her tears dry. He lifted her in a hug and urged, “Go. I’ll take care of him for you.”
Sage gave Jace a long look and went into the operating room Yale was lying on the bed liseless. He had been given two shocks with a defibrillator. The attending doctor and nurse were ashen and helpless.
