Chapter 769 After that, Melody just went into the bathroom and shut the door behind her. Sage wanted to follow her, but Yale stopped her. “It‘s okay. Give her some space.” 

On the island, Jace was still undergoing treatment from Primrose. He tried hard to fight and endure the dizziness from the treatment. He was not about to tarnish his image in front of his mother–in–law. 

“Your skill is very good,” Jace complimented, but his eyes focused on somewhere else. He did not even dare to take a peek. 

Primrose was amused and could not help laughing out loud. “You and Sawyer are quite similar. Nothing actually scared the both of you, except the treatment.” As the conversation went on, Yoel felt less frightened. “Oh, so Uncle Sawyer is the same with 

me.” 

“Hey, who are you calling your uncle?” Sawyer had good hearing and shouted at the door from outside, “We are not closed at all!” Jace pursed his lips like an obedient student. Primrose chucked. She had never understood why her daughter would actually fall in love with Jace. Despite the outstanding appearance, Jace was not soulful, he practically was just a bimbo in male form. However, after spending time with him for three months, Primrose discovered some of Jace‘s strengths. He was not a blabbermouth, and no one could guess what he thought as he always had a straight face. Nevertheless, there were still times that he was quite amusing. From the time Jace woke up, with the exception during the beginning that his mood was a little low, he quickly adjusted his state later, especially when he received news about Sage. His mood was improving visibly day by day as if there was some blessing of faith. He cooperated during the process of rehab and did not require anyone to supervise him. 

Since he had an accident before, he knew the rehabilitation process more than Primrose. He kept on saying how Sage helped him and how Sage encouraged him. Sage‘s name had become his mantra, and Primrose was so annoyed by it. Whenever he told Primrose about it, she would refute him directly, “I never knew you love my daughter so much.” Then Jace would admit it sincerely, “I was too late when I fell in love with her and also missed the best years in which she loved me dearly.” 

After that, he would space out looking at the East for a long time. Not even God would be able to call his soul back. 

Primrose once told Sawyer as she mocked Jace, “Isn‘t there a rock called Amah Rock that resembles a wife waiting for her husband to return? I think this guy here is about to turn into rock too. I am going to call him Sage Rock.” Sawyer glared at Jace with a meaningful look. At first, he despised Jace, and he said nothing. 

In order to keep their location a secret, this island was nowhere to be found on the map. There were people who would send food and necessities over routinely. Other than a few of them, there was no one else on this large island.
