Chapter 808 Jace fixed his gaze on Sage‘s face. He felt like the back of his hand was on fire and electrifying. Meanwhile, the familiar voice on the phone said hello several times, but Jace did not answer. Sage reminded him, “Say something.” Then, Jace finally returned to his senses. 

It was Wendy‘s voice on the phone. Jace greeted softly, “Aunt Wendy, it‘s me.” There was a short ‘ah‘ reply, and her voice stopped abruptly. After a silence of nearly ten seconds, Wendy suddenly replied with a stern voice, “Who are you? Why are you impersonating Jace?!” 

Her angry voice came through the phone. Jace held the phone further away because the volume made his ears numb. 

Sage could hear Aunt Wendy‘s loud and angry voice on the phone. She urged, “Give me the phone. I‘ll speak to her.” 

Jace gave the phone to her. 

Sage said, “Aunt Wendy, it‘s me. Sage.” When Wendy heard Sage‘s voice, her shouting ceased. Wendy‘s voice began to tremble. “S...Sage? Who was that? W...why did he sound so much like Jace?” 

“Calm down. I‘ll explain.”
