Chapter 839
“Are you deaf? I said we‘ve talked about it with Jace.”
Primrose repeated herself and continued, “We‘ve had a discussion when we were on the island. Your dad and I decided not to go back to the scene, we‘ve been working all our lives, and we‘d like to spend our own time now. As for you, return the Yuriel Group to Jace and continue the fight with him.”
Sage‘s lips twitched as she questioned, “You‘re asking me to fight Jace?”
“Well, I guess there‘s no need to fight since the Yuriels‘ and Norahs‘ are technically partners
now.”
Primrose waved her arm and continued, “Do whatever you please to do, as long as it doesn‘t affect my retirement life.”
Sage was utterly frustrated, how could a parent be so irresponsible?!
She wanted to express how exasperated she was when Primrose stuffed a bun inside her mouth and said to her, “Now shut up, keep nagging and I’ll have your big brother punish you.”
Sage looked at Tim‘s warning glare and shut her mouth defeatedly as she munched on the bun.
“We‘ll still be around a little longer before leaving, if there‘s anything you need help with, we‘ll do our best in helping,” said Sawyer as if he felt bad for treating his daughter poorly.
“We can help you by spending money, but not making them.”
Primrose said as she looked at her daughter mischievously, “Your dad and I will depend on you for our future. It makes me happy just thinking about it.”
“Ha...”
Sage laughed monotonously, “Don‘t have high hopes, I‘m not that rich, I can‘t feed you forever.”
“That‘s alright.”
Primrose was pleased with herself, “I have five sons. Even if my daughter isn‘t dependable, I still have a son–in–law to depend on. Honey, let‘s ask Jace how much he‘s willing to spend on dowry, I won‘t say yes if it‘s too little. I‘ve spent so much money raising my daughter, more than I did with my five sons combined. I have to make some of that money back, how else am I supposed to retire by myself without enough money?”
Sage glared coldly at her awards–winning actress of a mother and asked, “Are you marrying your daughter off or selling your daughter off?”
“Sounds like the same thing to me.” Primrose shrugged her shoulders and continued, “I‘ve given you away once already, since I get to do it once more, I‘m going to send you off far, far away.”
Sage was exasperated, “You...”
The whole family was calm as they were used to the pair‘s banter, even Leah was not afraid. Since she saw Sage jumping onto the table and fighting with Primrose when she was younger. Sage might have looked mature and steady from an outsider‘s perspective, but all that was off the table when she was with Primrose. Together, the pair acted like two toddlers fighting for candy.
“Sage,” Time uttered deeply, seeing as Sage was close to bursting out from anger.
Sage swallowed her frustration and sat back down.
Primrose shook her head and stuck her tongue out at Sage, showing her a face of victory. Seth finished his breakfast and set his utensils down before turning to Sage and saying, “Since Jace is in town, invite him over to the house. I‘d like to see him.”
