Chapter 843 Jace was caught off guard by Sage suddenly throwing herself at him, and fell back a little but he was able to hold her in his arms tightly. 

He froze a little when Sage begged for him to stay. He was suddenly reminded of that fateful year when he carried her in his arms as they walked out of the woods. 

It was as if everything happened right in front of his eyes again. 

It seemed like even after so many years, neither of them forgot the time when they first met. 

He still remembered the young girl who stood right next to him as they fought the enemies; he also remembered how she felt soft and warm in his arms as she smiled widely at him, asking for his name. 

Those moments were all precious to Jace. 

Jace came back to his senses. Patting her on her back, Jace comforted her, “I‘m right here, not going anywhere. I‘m right here...” 

Sage held onto him tightly. Like someone who finally found water after days of stumbling across the desert; like she drowned and gripped onto her last straw of hope, not wanting to let

Sage remembered Jekyll‘s sinister and cold smile; the piercing pain of the needles that were stabbed into her flesh; and how her dignity was stomped all over.... 

All of these vanished when he showed up. 

Getting through the heavily guarded place, he rushed toward him between the crossfires and tossed her a gun. She remembered that he was a skilled marksman, his moves swift and clean as he took down the enemies one by one. 

At the end of it all, she remembered using up all the energy left in her as she fell into his arms. Looking up at him, she saw his perfectly angled jawline, and that stunning side profile of his as he said to her in his low and hoarse voice: 

‘I‘m Jace Yuriel.’ 

Sage remembered clearly she shivered in the cold but for some reason, there was a warmth feeling welling up in her chest. Just like now. She shivered but in his arms, she was able to calm down. 

Those horrifying flashbacks somehow seem to fade out one by one. Sage inched away from him slowly. Looking up, she met his deep blue eyes that intently stared Jace called out to her softly, “Sage...” Before he could finish his sentence, Sage leaned in and pressed her lips against his. Holding his face in her hands, Sage started kissing him passionately as if she wanted to suck all the warmth out of him. 

Jace was startled and overwhelmed. 

However, almost immediately, he closed his eyes and started receiving her kisses. 

He felt a numbing pain yet fuzzy feeling pricking at his heart. 

He was never the one to look for love. However, when he realized his feelings for her. it was already too late. He hurt the one that he loved the most. So, he decided to do all he could to get her back. Hust when he thought that he was about to lose her forever, God took mercy on him and gave him another chance to live, and another chance to stand in front of her. 

Hence, there was no way that he would let this precious chance slip away.
