Eleanor hung up the phone, and after a while, she received another message from Bernard:
[Eleanor, I know you want to help, but I'm more worried about your safety, so I don't want you to get involved.]
[I promise, I'll be back in two days. Don't be mad at me, okay?]
Eleanor's fingers gently brushed the back of her phone. She stared at the screen, pondered for a few seconds, then bowed his head and began to reply:
[Okay, I'll wait for you at home.]
She knew she couldn't provide any real help, and tagging along with Bernard to the G country might just make her a burden. So she decided to stay home, not wanting to cause him any trouble.
It was only after Bernard replied to her message that Eleanor, who had soberly realized this, put down her phone.
As she was about to meet Ethan's parents, George walked into the principal's office and handed her a USB drive.
"I found this in Casey's home theater. It's a video your sister left for Ethan. You've never seen your sister, so you might want to take a look..."
George's eyes were still red, obviously he had been crying. Especially after watching this video, his sadness was even more intense.
Hearing that it was a video of her sister, Eleanor's heart began to ache, and the hand that took the USB drive began to tremble slightly.
Liana lent her the computer, then left the principal's office with Hailey, leaving her a private space.
Eleanor plugged the USB drive into the computer and opened the video. On the computer screen, she saw her sister's face.
At that time, Emilia was very sick, her skin was sallow, her muscles were atrophied, and she wasn't as beautiful as in the photos.
But even though she was sick, she still maintained a dignified and elegant temperament. She smiled at the camera, looking very beautiful.
She had put on makeup, dressed up carefully, and even chosen her clothes meticulously. Clearly, she wanted to leave the most beautiful image for Ethan.
Knowing that she was about to leave this world, she always used makeup to hide her true face, in order to leave the most beautiful moments to the ones she loved.
From the moment she started calling him Ethan, Eleanor knew that her sister loved Ethan very much. This love was deeply engraved in her heart.
Eleanor stared intently at her sister's appearance, her tone of voice, her smile, all of which felt familiar.
It felt like they had known each other for many years, even though it was just through a screen, it felt very familiar.

The readers' comments on the novel: A Second Chance At Forever novel (Eleanor and Bernard)
Loved the story, many times caught in so much actually crying with the situation. Wish had more chapters to a better ending....
It's weird that the story went from narrative to slang use. Good story so far though...
