A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo) novel Chapter 131

Benson frowned as he felt the back of his shirt grow damp from Sophie's burning tears. Hearing her sobs, he couldn't help but feel his heart soften.

He gently pulled her hands away and turned to face her. "It's all in your head. Nothing has happened. Get some sleep, and you'll feel better tomorrow."

"Benson, are you still mad at me? That day at the hotel, I only slapped Sierra because I couldn't bear to see you upset over her. It was impulsive, and I was wrong to do that. I shouldn't have laid a hand on her!"

As Sophie spoke, she suddenly began slapping herself hard across the face.

His eyes widened, startled by her actions. He quickly grabbed her hands to stop her. "What are you doing? Your face just healed, and now you're hitting yourself again. Are you trying to ruin your face?"

He muttered angrily, but his concern was evident.

Sophie looked up at him with tear-filled eyes, her expression pitiful. "Benson, please don't be angry with me anymore. You haven't replied to my messages these past few days, and it's been torture for me. The pain in my heart is worse than the wounds on my face."

Her gaze was filled with helplessness and vulnerability, making it hard not to feel sympathy for her.

Benson stared at her, frowning.

He had indeed been upset with Sophie for hitting Sierra, but she had done it for his sake. She had even endured a severe consequence from Theo, being forced to grovel all night. On top of that, her face had nearly been ruined. He couldn't bring himself to blame her anymore—if anything, he felt a pang of guilt.

"Benson, please don't be mad at me anymore. I know I was wrong," Sophie pleaded, her eyes red as she looked up at him.
