Benson bit his lip hard and lowered his head without saying a word.
Janet questioned, "Liam, Benson has already suffered enough. How can you still criticize him? Besides, you can't just listen to Sierra's side of the story. Even if Benson made mistakes, that doesn't mean she's completely innocent.
"Who's to say she hasn't had a change of heart for a long time?"
"Enough!" Liam shot her an impatient look, his voice filled with anger. "It's because of you that he's turned out like this. You always make excuses for him every time he screws up. That's why he never learns to take responsibility."
"And what, should I be like you? Always siding with outsiders and blaming our own son?" Janet retorted indignantly.
"Shut up!" Liam's voice was low and firm, his usually calm face clouded with fury. His dark gaze sent a chill through Janet's heart.
She averted her gaze, feeling a rare trace of fear.
Despite her usual arrogance, whenever Liam truly lost his temper, she couldn't help but feel intimidated.
The rest of the drive home was silent.
As soon as they arrived, Benson grabbed his car keys, ready to leave, but Liam signaled the maids to stop him.
"Did you ignore everything that I just said? You just arrived home, yet you're trying to run off and cause further trouble?"
"I need to see Cee. I want to ask her face-to-face whether she really has feelings for Theo!" Benson gritted his teeth and expressed himself, word by word.
