"Will Mr. Gray agree to it?"

Sierra let out a small, knowing smile and glanced at Madison. "Even if Uncle Theo is willing, I'm not. Why should I give William anything? I'm just keeping him at bay so he doesn't hurt my mom again."

The mention of Vera made Sierra's expression darken.

"I don't know what he did to her this time. She was ready to divorce him, but then, all of a sudden, she backed out. It's obvious he threatened her again."

"That's just disgusting," Madison growled, unable to wrap her head around how a father could be so heartless.

"But at least I didn't walk away empty-handed." Sierra pulled out her phone. "I recorded everything William said. His threats against my mom, the fact that he abandoned me—I got it all. As long as I have this recording, he won't dare touch her for now."

"For now," Madison repeated, her voice uncertain. "But he wants to meet Theo, right? You know you can't keep this from him forever. Sooner or later, you'll have to tell him."

Sierra lowered her gaze, feeling a tight knot in her chest.

After a moment, she murmured, "Maddy, am I useless? No matter what I do, I always end up needing Uncle Theo's help. Without him, I can't seem to do anything on my own."

Her voice carried a weight of helplessness.

Madison's heart ached seeing her like this. "Don't think that way, Cee. This isn't something anyone could handle alone. You've already done so much. William's the one playing dirty, using your mom to corner you. What else could you do? Besides, Theo's the one who wants to marry you. If that's the case, you two would need to face things together. You're not bothering him—you're in this together."

Sierra had no one to rely on, yet she had fought her way this far. That alone was impressive.

"Cee, forget about everything else for now. Just focus on the Marisol Cup competition," Madison advised her, shifting the conversation.
