He had coldly uttered his reply, causing the air around them to seemingly drop to freezing point.
Fabian shuddered. Normally, an issue like this could be handled easily, but the problem was that this particular contestant was now connected to the Gray family.
"Sierra made it to the finals through the judges' selection. You, of all people, should know she didn't pull any strings, right, Mr. Walsh?"
Theo's voice was sharp and unforgiving, making Fabian break out into a nervous sweat.
Before coming here, he had done his due diligence. Sierra had entered the finals purely based on skill. Before this controversy erupted, there hadn't been a single rumor about her having any ties to the Gray family.
"That's true. Sierra earned her spot fair and square, but the backlash online is growing. Many contestants are opposing her participation..."
"So just because of a few baseless accusations, you'd force an innocent competitor to withdraw? How is that fair to anyone?"
Theo's voice dropped even lower, carrying a dangerous chill.
Fabian's forehead was slick with sweat as he quickly shook his head. "Mr. Gray, I would never suggest such a thing."
"Sierra has no connection to Benson anymore, "Theo stated firmly. "And she's never cheated in her life."
"Of course, I believe you, Mr. Gray," Fabian replied. "But the public is fickle. They believe rumors more than facts. Even if Sierra does well in the competition, people will still question the results."
Theo's dark eyes turned ice-cold. "The truth will prevail. This competition is based on skill. Isn't that why we have judges?"
Fabian hesitated for a second before realizing Theo's meaning—he wanted the judges to step up and clear Sierra's name.
