Sierra nodded calmly.
Theo watched her for a moment before suddenly asking, "Sierra, does it hurt?"
Her fingers, which had been tapping a rhythm against the car door, paused. It took her a while to realize why he was asking that.
Ever since they registered their marriage, they had both tacitly avoided mentioning Benson as if he no longer existed. Somewhere along the way, she had truly forgotten about him.
If not for Edward calling them back, she probably wouldn't have even remembered his name.
She shook her head. As she turned, she caught the slight shift in Theo's expression and immediately understood what was on his mind.
After what had happened with Melody, they had argued once. She didn't want any more misunderstandings, so she decided to make things clear.
"I cut ties with Benson a long time ago. Why would I feel hurt over him? He's just someone irrelevant. I'd rather spend that time practicing a few more pieces.
"I realized that we're not from the same world long ago. Otherwise, I wouldn't have exposed Sophie's pregnancy."
In a way, she had been the one who pushed Benson and Sophie toward marriage.
Saying it out loud made Sierra feel a sense of relief, the tension in her chest easing. She exuded a soft, radiant glow.
Seeing her like this, a flash of joy crossed Theo's eyes. His grip on her hand tightened slightly.
When they arrived at the manor, they saw that Janet was dressed in a red dress, nitpicking about everything. When she saw the two of them enter, she didn't even bother to put on a smile.
"Theo, your nephew is getting married. Are you not going to show any generosity?"
Dressed in a formal suit, Liam frowned and tried to reason with her. "What nonsense are you talking about? Theo hasn't even had a proper wedding himself."
