Chapter 31 Hidden Thoughts 

Upon hearing Benson’s words, Edward’s anger subsided slightly. But when he saw Janet’s deflant expression, he spoke stemly. 

“panet, I know you look down on Sierra, thinking that the Shaw family isn’t on the same level as our family and that she’s not good enough for Benson 

“That’s narrow – minded. Sierra is a tate gem, and I’m telling you right now, Benson is lucky to marry her. She’s the granddaughter–in–law I’ve chosen. Anyone who disrespects her is disrespecting me!” 

Edward’s firm words caused Janet’s heart to tremble. 

“Dad’s right. Once Sierra is part of the family, we’ll treat her like our own daughter,” Liam quickly added, standing up and nudging Janet. 

Thus, Janet had no choice but to reluctantly reply, “I understand. As long as Benson likes her, that’s what matters. 

“The two of them are at the stage where they should be discussing marriage. Let’s invite the Shaw family over ura few days to talk about the wedding. It’s been too long since we’ve had anything joyous in this family.” 

Edward’s tone softened as he spoke, but Theo’s expression darkened, his hands tightening 

“Alright, Dad. I’ll take care of the arrangements,” Liam replied respectfully as be poured a cup of tea for Edward: 

“It’s late. You should all head home,” Edward said, accepting the tea and waving his hand to dismiss them 

Liam nodded and left with Janet and Benson, 

As Theo was about to leave, Edward called after him, “Theo, there’s still a room for you at the house. Stay the night.” 

“It’s okay. I’m not used to it,” The answered flatly, declining with a single sentence. He grabbed his umbrella and disappeared into the rainy night. 

Edward watched him go and sighed softly. “Halford, do you think Theo is still angry with me 

The butler stepped forward, offering reassurance. “Mr. Gay Senior, you’re overthinking. Mr. Theo has grown up and understands more now. He’ll understand you

“Didn’t he come back often to see you? That shows he’s already let go of it.” 

“Has he really let go?” 

Edward’s voice got quieter, Joolding older with the weight of the question. If he had truly let go, why wouldn’t he stay in the house? 

Theo walked out of the Gray Manor, stopping in front of the stone lions at the gate. His dark eyes grew distant. 

“Rub the lion’s head, and your worrie vill vanish. If you’re ever unhappy, just rub the lion’s head, and everything will be alright,” the soft voice from his past echoed in his mind 

He reached out and lightly touched the stone lion’s head. In the dark, rainy night, his figure seemed even more isolated and fortom. 

Then, his phone vibrated in his pocket. Theo pulled it out, noticing a new friend request. The profile picture was a stunning starry sky. His eyes lit up, and he quickly accepted the request 

A message arrived. “Uncle Theo, is that you?” 

“Yeah. It’s me,” he replied, holding the umbrella with one hand. 

Another voice message popped up. Theo’s long fingers gently tapped the screen.
