Only God knew how surprised Madison was when Theo's call came in. She was worried sick when he told her that Sierra was dispirited because of the Shaw family. Immediately setting everything aside, Madison hurried over.

"Where's Sierra?" she asked hastily the moment she saw Theo.

"She's playing the piano upstairs and hasn't stopped since she started." He pointed at the second floor in concern.

Madison sprinted upstairs and didn't stop until she was at the piano room's door. She watched as Sierra pounded the keys with her eyes closed, and she couldn't help but snarl, "Damn you, William."

The music sounded different from Sierra's usual playstyle; it carried anguish and rage.

Sighing, Madison turned around. "Mr. Gray, go to work. I'll keep Sierra company. You can leave her to me."

Theo looked at Sierra, who had her back to the sun. He was still worried about her, and he didn't leave until after Adrian's urgent call came in.

Madison gazed at his retreating figure and felt happy for Sierra.

"Sierra." She called out to her gently as she stepped into the piano room.

The slightly piercing note stretched out and echoed in the room as Sierra struck the key before stopping.

Madison saw that Sierra kept her eyes closed. She stood next to her, looking heartbroken as she pulled Sierra into her arms.

"Cry as much as you want. I know you're overwhelmed. We'll think of something together."

Tears slipped out of the corner of Sierra's eyes as she took in Madison's comforting words. "Maddy, he didn't just hit my mom this time. He didn't even spare Xavier, his favorite child!

"The last time Theo and I went back home, I made a point to tell Xavier to look after Mom, but I didn't expect that…" Sierra trailed off. There were no words that could describe her current emotions as she felt both relieved and guilty.

Madison patted Sierra's shoulder, cajoling, "It's not your fault. It's William's. He's a heartless monster."
