Everyone remained silent as they looked at Sierra with disgust, ready to fight back for Lauren's sake.

Sierra watched how unreasonable they were and laughed in anger. "Why should I apologize? You should think about apologizing to the Gray family instead."

Noticing Lauren's confused expression, she patiently explained, "It's fine if you want to spread rumors about Benson and Theo. However, Mr. Gray Senior isn't someone whom you can spread such rumors about. Once I return, I'll repeat what you've just said to him, word for word."

Tessa and their group of friends flinched, and their expressions fell. Lauren's face was still smeared with whipped cream, and her complexion quickly paled.

She felt anxious, but she did not know what to do.

She had spoken earlier without thinking and accidentally mentioned Edward's name in the process. Having always known that Edward would never do something like that, she had merely wanted to disgust Sierra.

"I-I didn't say such things! I didn't even say anything. I'm warning you, don't spread nonsense. Otherwise, I'll make you regret it." Lauren glared at Sierra but didn't dare to continue finding fault with her.

Even the apology that she had just demanded also slipped out of her mind.

"My dress is stained. I'll go and change my clothes." She pulled her stained dress in disgust and quickly left in her high heels.

With Lauren gone, the rest of the group no longer had any reason to stay, so they quickly turned to Tessa.

Tessa was terrified Sierra would continue to mention them spreading rumors about Edward, so she could lead the group away unwillingly.

Now that they were gone, Sierra glanced at the dirty floor and waved for an attendant to clean the mess up. Then, she looked for another place to sit.

Subtly rotating her aching ankle, she rubbed her stomach, pouting. "I didn't even get to finish my cakes before arguing with them. I'm much hungrier than before."

Suddenly, a young woman in a white baby-doll dress walked up to her with a complicated expression.

Sierra returned the glance. Upon confirming that she really had no idea who this woman was, Sierra turned away. Looking at the time, she wondered when the banquet would end.
