Chapter 65 Teasing
Adrian reported, “Mr. Gray, I spoke to the doctor. The doctor said Ms. Shaw’s condition isn’t serious. She fainted due to low blood sugar, and though she’s a bit weak, her foot isn’t tractured
“She just needs to be observed for a day before being discharged. You’ve been running around for her for two days straight without rest–your body won’t hold up
He looked at Then’s handsome but visibly tired face and couldn’t help expressing his concem. “Besides, Ms. Shaw also said you should test and not mish to visit her.
He invoked Sierra’s name in an attempt to persuade him.
Theo rubbed his temples and said in a low and firm voice, “I won’t feel at ease until I see her. Go ahead and drive.”
Adnan sighed softly and said nothing else. He started the car and lett.
Ten minutes later, Theo arrived outside the hospital room. Through the transparent glass panel on the door, he saw Sierra sitting on the hospital bed, holding a book in her hands and reading intently.
Her side profile was delicate and serene. A strand of hair slipped down by her ear, and she gently reached up to tuck it back, securing it behind her ear. Her slender, tair fingers flipped through the pages gracefully. It was a simple gesture that radiated wannth
she looked as beautiful as a painting
Theo stood quietly, watching her. His deep eyes, usually as impenetrable as the night sky, were now filled with a soft, starry light. The corners of his lips also curved into a faint smile.
He raised his hand and gently pushed the door open.
The slight sound startled the woman on the bed, though she didn’t lookup. Instead, her lips curled into a small smile as she said playfully, “Are you back already? That was fast.“”
Her voice was clear and melodious, like the notes of a wind chime,
“Back from what?-1
Theo asked with a slight smick
Sierra froze and abruptly raised her head. When she met his deep gaze, her lashes trembled slightly, and she stammered in embarrassment, “Uncle Theo, I thought it was Maddy coming back. She went to help me get a replacement SIM card.”
“Hmm.” Theo nodded, pulling out a chair to sit beside her. His gaze fell on the book in her hands. “What are you reading?
“Nothing much, just one of Maddy’s novels that she published earlier,” Sierra replied, her eyes flashing with a hint of hesitation as she prepared to close the book. He extended his hand. “May I take a look?”
She bit her lip lightly, hesitating “Uncle Then, do you even like novels?”
“I’ve never read one, but I’m curious why this one has you so absorbed.”
Sering the genuine curiosity in his expression, she couldn’t bring herself to refuse. However, remembering the particular scene she’d just been reading, her earlobes grew warm. She deliberately pressed the book closed and handed it to him after a moment’s pause.
He noticed her little gesture and a faint smile flickered in his eyes. He took the book from her and opened it directly to the creased page she’d been reading
The text on the page read, “He let out a mocking laugh, tilting her chin upward as he ldssed her without warning–biting and grinding.
“When she pushed him away, his breathing deepened. He stepped forward, pinning her against the wall, gripping her chin as he ignored her resistance and kissed her fiercely.
“A surge of jealousy and traces of resentment bit by bit, into her mouth.”
