Chapter 66 Thoughts
Theo watched Sierra’s face tum crimson, and his eyes filled with even more amusement. “Really? I thought you liked this kind of man,” he said lazily, and histone was laced with a hint of teasing.
Sierra caught the implication and shot him a reproachful glance. “Uncle Then, you’re getting better and better at joking.”
He smiled faintly as his gaze shifted to her feet. He pursed his lips together slightly before asking in a low voice, “Do they still hurt?”
She shook her head and smiled softly. “Not anymore. Thank you, Uncle Theo. Maddy told me you spent two days looking for me. You’ve gone to so much trouble for

“It wasn’t trouble. His dark eyes glimmered as he looked at her eamestly. “It was my concem.
She froze for a moment, and her eyes inadvertently locked with his deep, dark gaze. Her heartbeat quickened, and she felt a sudden sense of panic.

“It’s my fault for not finding you sooner and letting you suffer this time,” his deep voice sounded again.
She took a deep breath and forced herself to stay calm. She responded, “Uncle Theo, I didn’t grow up with a father’s love, but with you, I’ve felt a sense of safety I’ve never known. If my father had cared for me the way you do, it would have been wonderful.”
His brows furrowed slightly, and his eyes grew darker.
Was she saying she saw him as a father figure?
“Apart from my grandfather and mother, you’re the one who cares for me the most among all my elders. I’m truly grateful to you.” Sierra continued, and her eyes were filled with sincere gratitude.
He pursed his thin line. His smile disappeared instantly, and the faint crease between his brows revealed a trace of frustration.
“Do you think I’m old?” His voice was low, carrying an undercurrent of displeasure.
