Chapter 69 Selfless Love 

“Maddy, I don’t want to owe Uncle Theo any favors. He’s helped me so much, and I’m afraid I can never repay him.” Sierra looked up and spoke softly. 

Besides, he was part of the Gray family. If things escalated between her and Benson, she knew fully well who Theo would protect. It was better not to trouble him too much to avoid putting him in a dilemma. 

Madison didn’t realize Sierra’s deeper thoughts. She merely answered, “But Theo never asked you to repay him.” 

“He didn’t ask me to, sure, but that doesn’t mean I don’t need to. When I was little, Grandpa always told me that there was no such thing a just accept other people’s kindness without a thought. If someone helps you, you should return the favor,” Sierra answered seriously.

Seeing how worried she was, Madison couldn’t help but laugh. She reached out and pinched Sierra’s little face gently. “Alright, I was just teasing you. Don’t I know how close we are? But Cee, your thinking is wrong. True friends don’t expect anything in retum” 

“But someone who only gives will eventually get tired of it,” Sierra insisted. 

Madison couldn’t change her mind, so she sighed helplessly. Yet, she also understood a little. This must be the influence of her family background. 

Bobby taught her to be this way, fearing that she’d be easily deceived by others when she grew up, but this also affected her ability to make friends. It was no wonder many people said she was aloof back in school.

At that time, the young Sierra looked up at Bobby and asked tenderly, “Grandpa, why are you so good to me? What good do I have to give back to you?”
