Madison got into the car in anger. While starting the engine, she complained, “Janice’s bad temper hasn’t changed after all these years. Her face looked so gloomy as if someone owes her something. It’s really annoying.”
They attended the same school before, and she didn’t get along with them even back then. Madison couldn’t stand Janice’s arrogant attitude and tendency to always look down on others, which resulted in them often clashing and arguing
Sierra turned and saw Madison’s angry expression. She smiled, gently patted her back, and said, “Don’t be angry. You know what she is like. She’s strong–willed, but deep down, she’s not a bad person”
“Not a bad person?” Madison widened her eyes in disbelief and replied, “She brought a few girls to block you back then and threatened you, saying you couldn’t study plano anymore. If you hadn’t agreed, she would have gotten someone to beat you up. If it hadn’t been for Benson-
Madison suddenly stopped after realizing what she had just said.
She really had a big mouth–why did she bring up Benson?
Siena’s expression remained unchanged, though her eyes flickered slightly. She spoke calmly, “Back then, we were both young, Impulsive, and doing things without thinking. She was upset because Ms. Linden favored me, so I can understand her actions. Plus, she was only trying to scare me. She wouldn’t really hurt me.
“Who knows if she would do it or not? Madison muttered quietly.
That time, Benson had shown up just in time, and Janice had left.
Madison cautiously glanced at Sierra through the rearview mirror. Then, she gently asked, “Cee, have you completely cut ties with Benson?”
“I don’t know,” Sierra answered with some helplessness. “In the past, I was always so scared every time I argued with him. I feared he would breakup with me and never speak to me again, so I often ended up apologizing first. I was so afraid of losing him.
“But this time, I know we can never get back together, so I actually hope he can completely cut ties with me, and be decisive about it. I want to return to a normal life, start playing plano again, and not let these things distract me anymore.”
After she finished speaking, she let out a long sigh. She wouldn’t be at peace until they handled the breakup properly.
“Hey, by the way, has Theo contacted you these days?” Madison suddenly asked.
Sierra’s eyes showed a hint of disappointment. The day before yesterday, she had contacted Adrian to deliver the dry–cleaned and pressed suit to Theo.
Theo just saved her new number the other day and never texted her after that. It was unlikely that they would contact each other again
