Chapter 479
Chapter 479
When they got to the entrance of her apartment, Cheryl stammered, “Lyndon, I–I should head in. I’ll talk to you tomorrow morning
Lyndon said, “Alright. I’ll wait for you at your door tomorrow morning and bring you breakfast.”
Cheryl nodded. “Thank you for being so sweet to me, Lyndon.”
“See you,” Lyndon replied.
Cheryl took a deep breath as she stepped inside to steady her nerves. After that, she hurried back to her room and saw Serena sleeping quietly there.
Cheryl reached out and gently poked Serena’s chubby cheek. “Serena, what do you think about Mommy finding you a dad? He is really gentle and sweet to me. I wonder if you’ll like him.”
She was planning to come clean to Lyndon about having a child, hoping he would be willing to help look after Serena.
Therefore, she would go alone to Nareigh for Donald and Jennifer’s wedding. Once it was over, she would come back to Lonisburg to take care of Serena.
Once she had changed Serena’s diaper, Cheryl wiped her down with a baby wipe and murmured, “Serena, Mommy has to leave for a bit tomorrow. You’ll be good, right?”
She couldn’t help but wonder if Lyndon would be surprised to find out she had a daughter.
Suddenly, her phone rang.
It was Cathy calling. She worried that Cheryl might not return home tomorrow.
“Mom, I’m not a kid anymore. I know what I should do,” Cheryl said.
“You are still a kid to me. If you skip Donald and Jennifer’s wedding like you did last time, it won’t just be me and your dad, but your grandpa will give you a piece of his mind too,” Cathy said.
Cheryl said, “Oh, come on. I’m packing my bags right now. I promise I’ll be-”
Before she could finish, Serena woke up and started wailing.
Cathy heard the crying and asked, “Who’s crying? That sounds like a child.”
Cheryl quickly said, “It–it’s my neighbor’s kid. She left her kid with me for a bit. I need to hang up.”
Cathy stared at her phone after the call was cut off and shook her head helplessly.
Werner, who was sitting beside her, asked, “Is Cheryl coming back?”
Cathy didn’t think much of the crying and said, “She said she’ll be back tomorrow morning.”
“Tell her to take care. It’s fine if she returns tomorrow afternoon. The wedding is not until the day after tomorrow, so there’s no rush,” Wemer said.
“I’d still rather she come back earlier. I need to take her shopping for a nice outfit and help her get ready,” Cath
Cheryl had just finished feeding Serena. After coaxing Serena to sleep, Cheryl began to continue packing her things.
Serena was easy to care for. Once she was fed/she could sleep for two or three hours straight, which meant Cheryl could finally get some things done without any worries.
As she packed, Cheryl hummed a light tupe to herself.
