Chapter 32 

“He has a slight cold. It shouldn’t be a big issue; the doctor has already come to see him, the butler replied. 

“Can I go see him?” Elara asked. 

“Of course. 

Lysander had not been sleeping well lately. In fact, he had never been a good sleeper. Ever since his mother’s accident, he had been like this. 

The butler led Elara to Lysander’s room upstairs. “Mr. Hawthorne is inside,” 

With that, he knocked on the door and then pushed it open to enter. 

Lysander was lying on the bed in pajamas. 

sir. Miss Kensington is here! the butler said. 

Lysander immediately sat up on the bed. Seeing Elara standing at the door, he was momentarily stunned. “Why did you let her come up?” he asked. 

“Miss Kensington said she wanted to see you, the butler replied, 

Take her downstairs first. I’ll come down later, Lysander said coldly. 

The butler looked at Elara and said, “Miss Kensington, please.” 

“It’s okay,” Elara said as she walked in. “I just came to check on him, and I’ll leave once I’m done.” 

Seeing Lysander looking more haggard than usual, she added, Theard you were sick. Why didn’t you tell me? You had me worried all day today.” 

Lysander looked at her and noticed she didn’t treat him as an outsider but rather treated the place as her own home. “You should have let me know in advance if you were coming 

“Why?” Elara asked, “Am I disturbing you? You aren’t doing anything shady, are you?” 

Lysander was left speechless. He looked at Elara with a cold expression. “I didn’t even wash up.” 

He felt a bit ashamed before her in such a state 

But Elara said, “You’re sick, aren’t you? I don’t mind! When I’m sick, I lie in bed at home all day. Actually, you look quite handsome even like this. 

‘Being good–looking is truly a privilege! Even with a sickly face, he still looks so good, she praised inwardly. 

Hearing this, Lysander was less resistant to her sudden appearance. “Why brings you by 

“I went to the Regal Crest Hotel for dinner and happened to see Crispin, who said you didn’t go to school. So I thought I’d come to check on you at your place.” Elara looked around the room, noticing that Lysander’s room was simple, unlike hers. which was pink and filled with various gifts from her dad. But Lysander’s room was in black and white, looking very neat and a bit oppressive. 

“You often come to my house, but I’ve never been to yours before. This is the first time,” she said. 

Lysander sat on the bed, looking at her.

Chapter 32 

When she spoke, the corners of her mouth lifted into a smile. Fra had a naturally smiling face. When she smiled, she was radiant, like sunlight…. 

“Elara. His tone suddenly became incredibly serious, mingling with a hint of solemnity. 

Elara looked at him, asking. “What’s wrong? Why the sudden seriousness?” 

“I think we should keep some distance.” 

His words stunned Elara for a second. She looked at him. “Have you grown to dislike me? Is it because I’ve been overstepping the boundaries?” 

Due to the experiences of her last life, she now felt a sense of closeness toward Lysander. So she hadn’t treated him as an outsider. But now Lysander said they needed to keep their distance, making her wonder if she had overstepped the boundaries. 

“No.” Lysander looked somewhat forlorn. “I’m actually not a nice person.” He was afraid that if they got too close, he might do something that would upset her. 

“Then what kind of person are you?” Elara eyed him curiously. Although we are very close, I’ve never really known what kind of person you are cause you talk too little.” 

“I have a bad temper. And… I’m not as gentle as I appear,” Lysander confessed. 

“I see.” Elara said. “But why have I never seen you lose your temper? Is it because you’ve always treated me as an obsider?” She had a smile on her face, appearing sweet and adorable, completely out of place with the style of the room 

Lysander turned to look at her, silent for a moment before he let out a cough. 

“Are you okay? Do you want some water?” Elara asked in a hurry 

With that, she stood up and went to pour him some water. 

Lysander lay on the bed. Soon, Elara brought water over and handed it to him. She sat on the edge of the bed, looking at him. “Did you take your medicine?” 

“Yeah” 

“Have some sleep. I’ll watch over you here.” 

Hearing her, Lysander turned to look at her. “Aren’t you going back? I’ll have the butler send you back.” 

“I just got here! I’ll go after you fall asleep,” Elara wasn’t planning on leaving so soon. 

Lysander sipped the water and gazed at Elara, not saying anything. 

When he returned yesterday, they had a minor disagreement. Lysander wanted to keep a bit of distance. Being too close recently made him focus all his thoughts on her. So when he fell ill today, he didn’t reply to her messages. But he never expected her to find her way to his home. Anyway, she might eventually return to Asher Blackwood, 

Lysander lay in bed with Elara watching beside him. He didn’t sleep well, waking up not long after falling asleep. 

Elara was still there. 

He opened his beautiful eyes, asking. “You haven’t left?” He had thought that the cold room would be empty when he woke up with only him alone. To his surprise, she was still here. It was like receiving an unexpected gift, 

“Do you have insomnia?” Elara asked. When she was sick, she often suffered from insomnia and poor sleep, just like this. Sometimes she might wake up after only half an hour.
