Chapter 33 

Lysander was taken aback for a moment. ‘Every day from now ? He looked at her, puzzled. “Why? 

“Don’t you want me to come over?” Elara asked. 

“No.” Lysander explained, “You have classes to attend, right? I can go to your place.” 

“But you’re sick now. I can’t let you come over to teach me while you’re sick. I’ll bring my homework and come to you myself 

Hearing this, Lysander breathed a sigh of relief. “Okay” 

She came for a lecture. That made sense. Lysander almost overthought that she had other intentions…. 

Elara looked at him and realized that he visibly relaxed where she mentioned bringing homework. As if I’m going to eat him up!‘ she teased inwardly. 

She stood up and stretched. After sitting for so long, she felt her body stiffen. “I’ll go back now. See you tomorrow.” 

Tll have the butler drop you off. Lysander got up as well. 

“No, it’s okay. Take some rest. The driver is waiting downstairs. I can go back on my own.” Elara couldn’t possibly allow a patient to see her off. 

Even so, Lysander still stood up. “Actually, it’s nothing serious. I be fine by tomorrow.” 

“Really?” Elara turned to him. 

Lysander had already stood before her, towering over her. 

Elara stepped back two paces, looking at him.

Elara originally thought he was sick and needed rest but found out that he looked quite fine. 

Downstairs, Steven was sitting on the sofa, talking on the phone. Seeing them, he put down his phone. “Elara, are you leaving? 

“Yeah.” Elara nodded, 

“Why not stay longer? Just stay here. I’ll have someone clean up a room for tomorrow, Steven added. 

you and arrange for you to go to school 

Elara and Lysander weren’t in the same school. It was a bit farther to get from here to Crestview Senior High. 

“No, thanks, Mr. Clark,” said Elara. “I’m heading back now just in time to sleep. 

Lysander accompanied her out of the living room, and by the time they reached the outside, the driver from the Kensington family was already waiting. 

The butler politely opened the car door for Elara. “Take care, Miss Kensington.” 

Elara looked at Lysander. “Get a good night’s sleep, and remember to text me if you’re better tomorrow, If you don’t, I’ll come for you.” She spoke sternly, a bit like a little leader. But her sweet voice betrayed her.

“Alright. Let me know when you arrive” Lysander’s eyes softene

Lysander froze while looking at her in confusion. 

The butler stood by, a knowing smile playing on his lips, feeling relieved that Lysander was a grown man now. 

After a while. Lysander finally spoke. “Hey…” 

Elara let go of him, her eyes sparkling like stars. “I don’t know why, but seeing you like this, I just wanted to give you a hug. You wouldn’t hate me for that, would you?” 

Lysander looked as if he was very unhappy. Elara didn’t know why he was like that. 

When Lysander heard her words, he was slightly taken aback. 

“Of course not.” He would never dislike her but was just afraid of getting used to her kindness. When she eventually stepped back or reconciled with Asher, he would be utterly sad.

The summer had long since passed in Brookfield. A few days ago, there was a late autumn heatwave, unbearably hot. Now, it was back to the usual autumn weather. The night breeze was a bit chilly. 

Lysander turned back and walked through the door.
