Sylvia glanced at Mrs. Ritter's back and then turned to Jenna. "Rest well. You're familiar with the rules of the competition, right?"
Jenna nodded. "There are preliminaries, semi-finals, and finals. I've submitted three pieces according to your guidance."
"Good." Sylvia nodded in approval. "Tomorrow is the preliminaries, which will take two days due to the large number of participants from around the world competing here. Making it through to the semi-finals or even finals would be a great achievement."
Jenna felt a twinge of regret that she hadn't signed up for Graley Piano Competition's piano competition project.
"Is this also how piano competitions work?" Jenna asked.
"Yes, but..." Sylvia looked at her meaningfully before continuing, "Did nobody tell you that you can sign up for two or even three projects simultaneously?"
Jenna's eyes widened in surprise as she realized it was too late now to add another project.
"Just focus on your composition competition," Sylvia encouraged her with a pat on her shoulder. "Don't be afraid; treat it like practicing at home."
"I understand," Jenna replied dejectedly before walking towards her room where Brayden followed closely behind.
She stopped abruptly when he caught up with her and asked irritably: "Why are you following me?"
"Jasper said they didn't assign me a room," Brayden explained with an insincere smile on his handsome face as if he knew something Jenna didn't know about Mrs. Ritter's intentions.
"Why don't you just get another room?" Jenna glared at him indignantly and blushed slightly when he insisted on staying close by.
"The front desk said there were no more rooms available because so many teams were participating." Brayden leaned closer and whispered seductively into her ear. "Don't worry; I won't lay hands on you... I'll protect you well."
"You could stay with Jasper instead," Jenna suggested awkwardly while trying not to look into his mesmerizing eyes that sparkled like diamonds under bright lights.
"Why should I stay together with a man? Besides, I'm engaged now." Brayden moved closer still until their faces were inches apart from each other's, making it hard for Jenna not to feel flustered.
"You can trust me," he added reassuringly before finally leaving without any further explanation.
Jenna was left red-faced by his shamelessness and quickly swiped his card to enter the room. "You... you should go stay at another hotel."
Jenna widened her eyes, only to be pressed against the door by the man. Her back was tightly attached to the door, and she stared at him in shock, not understanding what he wanted to do.
"You..."
"Umm..."
Is he... kissing her?
Jenna's heart skipped a beat and then began to race wildly.
Her face turned so red that she almost couldn't breathe.
They spent every day together and had become familiar with each other.
But being so intimate like this... except for the accidental kiss before, this should be considered as a serious and genuine kiss between the two of them.
Her mind went blank, surrounded by the masculine scent of male hormones that lingered in her breath, causing a momentary lack of oxygen.
She hardly know how to react.
Brayden released her and looked at the blushing young girl in front of him. He couldn't help but curve his lips into a charming smile and ask, "What's wrong? Did my superior skills leave you dizzy?"
Brayden lowered his head and stared at her without blinking, while her bright eyes seemed to be covered with shyness.
Brayden felt a wave of heat rush over him as he read the words, and his body's strong reaction made him gasp for breath. He abruptly let go of her and said, "I'm going to take a shower!"
He was almost fleeing in panic.
Jenna looked at his tall and panicked figure with confusion, and furrowed her brows.
How strange. What was wrong?
The sound of rushing water quickly filled the bathroom as Jenna began to pack her bags and take out her pajamas.
It was the first time she had shared a room with a man and slept in the same room... Her heartbeat, which had just calmed down, began to beat wildly again uncontrollably.
The more she thought about it, the more embarrassed she felt, and the hotter her face got.
She woke up as if from a dream and quickly stood up, but her feet felt numb because she had been squatting for too long.
Her legs went weak and she fell towards the ground.
