After divorce, Ex-wife Revealed Identities novel Chapter 800

Chapter 800

"Jenna, after your competition is over, let's go have some alone time," Brayden said as he grabbed Jenna's hand.

The young girl's delicate face blushed slightly and she gave him a shy glare. "Stop it."

Franklin ignored Brayden and started grilling. He had a few skewers of wild chicken wings and some chicken legs.

He wore a black polo shirt on top and matching pants on the bottom. His long fingers held the bamboo skewers with the chicken wings, looking handsome in the smoky haze.

Smoke wafted from the rooftop while yellowish lights glowed around them, accompanied by laughter from their group of friends.

In that moment, Jenna forgot about the competition pressure as she took a big bite of rabbit meat. "Delicious!"

Seeing her enjoy it made Brayden feel accomplished so he grilled a few more deer meat skewers for her to try. "You'll love this too."

After Franklin finished grilling the chicken wings, he picked up a wet towel to wipe Sylvia's hands before handing her one of his grilled skewers. "Try it out."

He always took care of Sylvia with great attention to detail without ever showing impatience or any signs of chauvinism because he didn't need that kind of validation! So when other men bullied women, he despised them greatly.

Being manly wasn't about being stronger than women but rather in other aspects like personal abilities or financial stability; not competing against women all the time.

That was why Franklin always treated Sylvia kindly and carefully like now when he was cooking for her while wiping her hands clean; feeling happy inside whenever she smiled at him gratefully because nothing could replace this kind of feeling for him.

Sylvia had slept so long that she was really hungry now so she ate two skewers of chicken wings along with one leg plus drank red wine until there were no more left in front of her eyesight.

She sat down watching Franklin who was busy grilling nearby, his face almost flawless from where Sylvia sat.

"I want to eat deer meat," Sylvia spoke softly covering up usual coldness in tone with smoke-like quality instead.

"Here you go," Franklin handed over freshly-grilled deer meat just as soon as they were ready.

Jasper had no choice but to give Franklin two skewers of his own grilled meat since all the meat that Franklin had grilled was given to Sylvia. As a result, Franklin discovered that all the meat he received was venison.

Venison is rougher and harder to chew than wild chicken or rabbit, and it has a slightly gamey odor. The two girls tried it but didn't touch it again after tasting it. On the other hand, the three men ate quite a bit since venison is known for its nourishing properties.

Sylvia looked at how much they were eating and couldn't help feeling worried about overeating. Her concerns proved valid.

As night fell, their rooftop barbecue came to an end.

Then she glanced at Franklin's slightly flushed face and raised her eyebrows teasingly, "Feeling hot under the collar? Blood flowing faster?"

Franklin gave her a seductive look, "Does Dr. Sylvia want to take my pulse?"

The most obvious effect of eating venison is... well... you know what I mean.

Sylvia rolled her eyes at him, "Give me a break."

After hearing Sylvia's words, Jasper looked skeptically at his own piece of venison in hand; he felt like Miss Andrews was hinting something with her words - could they not eat too much of this deer meat?

He quickly put down his piece of deer meat and started focusing on those chicken wings and legs instead. Luckily, he ordered some lamb skewers.

Brayden actually thought that the venison tasted pretty good; he ended up eating several skewers in a row. Just then, the waiter brought over several bowls of stewed deer blood: "These bowls are ready-made by our kitchen staff - would you like them?"

Before Sylvia could answer him, Brayden reached out for one bowl. "I've eaten duck blood soup before but never tried deer blood."

"Alas..." Sylvia just opened her mouth trying to stop him when Brayden took half bowlfuls in one gulp!

As she saw Brayden drink half bowlfuls of deer blood soup without hesitation, Sylvia couldn't help feeling sorry for Jenna who still held onto her phone playing games without realizing any danger approaching.

Brayden had been in high spirits lately due to his father's promotion followed by Jenna winning first place in piano competition again.

He couldn't resist drinking more wine than usual tonight, and now having half bowlfuls of stewed deer blood made him feel like there was fire running through his veins.

His body was already full with alcohol, and now mixed with fresh nutrients from this dish, his head spun momentarily .

"Why do I feel a little dizzy in the head?" He shook his head.

Sylvia said helplessly, "Deer meat is already very nourishing, and you ate so much of it. Not to mention deer blood, you..."

"Isn't it good to have nourishing food?" Brayden frowned.

"Don't drink it, please," Sylvia tapped Franklin and said, "That's enough. Let's go back to our room."

Jenna had finished eating and stood up when she heard they were leaving. As she looked up, she met Brayden's wolf-like eyes.

She blinked her eyes and her face inexplicably turned red.
